Chairs

Hi guys,
posted this on the work forum, but stickywicket (love that name!!) suggested I may get more of a response here, so....
I'm trying to find information about the best chair for my desk at work. I currently have the general one on wheels, with a fixed back, and use a cushion to keep me upright. Work have offered to purchase something, as I'm finding that when at my desk for longer periods my back really aches.
I don't sit for extended periods, maybe an hour at most at a time, but some days i'm there more than not - if you know what I mean?
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Has anyone used those mesh back-rests that you can purchase in argos?
For info, I have PsA an OA, including slipped discs at the bottom of my spine. Both arthritis's are wide-spread
Thanks, Polly

Don't know whether it would suit you any better, but after my occy health assessment work got me a wheeled chair with a lumber support and arms which was definitely better for me. Just a thought, but is it worth going to an office supplies shop like St>>>>s and trying out different kinds of chairs?

Oh Polly sorry I can t offer any help, I am retired and just need chairs with arms on  ...I do agree with debs that you could try a lumber support, this should help your back.
Good Luck hope you find something suitable xLove

I tried the mesh thingy
and gave it to my MIL
I tried one of those ergonomic ones once that you almost kneel on? but it would be no good now :?
Have you access to a physio for advice at all?

Hi Toni,
Good idea - i'll speak to the physio at work see if she can point me in the right direction. I've seen those knee chairs - look like torture to me
