Pain relieving gel

Hi everyone. Quite recently someone posted a topic (sorry can't remember who it was) about a new pain relieving gel -Flexiseq - currently available in Ireland and Germany and expected to be available in UK by the end of the year.
I casually mentioned about it to my Son about it the other day and, lo and behold, I have just received 2 tubes of it by post! The downside is that it is quite expensive and the tube is not very large. However, if it is as effective as all the reports of it claim it to be, then to get some efficient pain relief would be wonderful.
It is available via Am...n if anyone else wants to try it. Will let you know how I get on with it.
Hope you are all having as good a day as possible.
Beryl.

Hi Beryl,
Your son is good to you. Let me know whether it does give you relief and I might start asking my doctor if I can get it on the N.H.S.
You can be our forum guinea pig on this new gel. Keep on using and telling us how it is working for you.Karen xx0 -
Oh bless him, isn't that thoughtful? I hope it helps to relieve more than the usual dullers and creams etc. Good luck! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Am perfectly willing to be a guinea pig! Think it is intended more for shoulders and knees than backs but does show someone using it on their back. Will try it on my back (as that is the most painful OA bit, but will also put it on my knee and shoulder too.
It is primarily intended for "the pain relief of osteoarthritis."
To be continued........

Hi beryl
I will be very interested to know if it works as I'm thinking to get some myself but was worried that it might be just another rip-off just to get people money.0 -
Very interesting Beryl
Please do keep us all up to date with how it works
Your son sounds a proper sweetie

I will be interested to know if it works, I read the newspaper article saying it had great success.0

I hope it helps, Beryl. What a lovely son you have.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi everyone. Well the first report is encouraging. I managed to go out on Friday and actually enjoyed being out without being in awful pain. I didn't do very much walking, just my normal route when I go into town shopping (all planned with suitable sit-down places en route if and when needed). Can honestly say that I cannot remember when I last had such a pain-free outing. Even managed to get home without wanting/needing to collapse in the nearest available chair!
However, the 'normal' pain level did resume later on though not as bad as it can be.
The downsides are as follows: -
a) it is around £15 per tube, but you can get free postage!
b) the tube is small(ish) and if you applied the amount recommended twice a day, it would not last very long.
I have decided to use it mostly when I am going out as I think it really does help (so far), and will continue to use the other gels I have, Capsaicin on prescription and Pernaton which I purchase myself.
Will report further in due course.
By the way, I do know how lucky I am to have such a lovely, helpful Son. He is always doing or buying me things, or taking me somewhere.
Hope you are all having as good a day as possible.

Hi
Do you get your Pernaton online?
Its so much cheaper I've discovered after buying it at the chemist/health shop that browsing and finding it
Good luck with the other....you probably don't need to use it as much as they say.....they want to sell it don't they

Second Report - well, I have been out this morning (applied Flexiseq before leaving home) and again had a more or less pain free morning and arrived home without having to crawl from the bus stop as usually happens.
It would appear that the gel really does help (so far, so good!). However, I think I might take issue with 'apply morning and night' as the pain relief for me, (and of course, everyone may be different), seems to indicate that I would need to apply it 3 times a day for maximum effect. It is fantastic to be able to walk without the constant agonising pain. I am not wanting, or expecting to walk great distances, but to just be able to do what I want is fine with me. Although the pain has returned this afternnoon (as it did on Friday after I had been out), it is nowhere near the level it sometimes reaches.
I shall continue to use it when I go out but use the other gels when at home. I am not out every day. If anyone is thinking of trying it, I would say give it a go. Yes, it is quite expensive, but if you get the pain relief I think it is worth it.
I just hope the benefit continues and will report back agn next week.

I am so pleased that you are receiving benefit from this - that's your Christmas and birthday presents sorted, yes?
I would also keep it to the minimum so you keep feeling the benefits - I am sure that as with other things one can become 'immune' to the benefits so keep needing more. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
It was me!!!!!
What a lovely son you have.Hope it works for you. Chemists in Ireland could not get enough of the the stuff on their shelves quick enough before it had all been purchased.

That's very good Beryl I am so pleased it is working for you, unfortunately I don't have a generous son so will just have to put it on my santa list................Marie xSmile a while and while you smile

Hi everyone. Just thought I would update you on the new 'miracle gel'. Am not quite so sure it is the 'miracle' the reports have cracked it up to be. Have now been using on my back for over 2 weeks and the last few times I have used it before going out, it has made no difference at all after the first 10 minutes or so.
I suspect that maybe, as the reports state, it is intended more for joints (although the website does illustrate their write-up with a photo of someone using it on their back). I will continue using it on my knee and shoulder to see if it makes any difference.
The other minus point is that the price has increased on the A....m website and it is now just under £20 for a very small tube!!!
The jury is still out on overall verdict! Like lots of meds etc, some work on some people but not on others. My overall view at the moment is that I am not sure whether (for backs) it is any better than Pernaton Gel (which is less than half the price of the
Flexiseq for over double the amount) and can be obtained even cheaper on A....n website.
Hope you are all having as good a weekend as possible.

Oh dear, that doesn't sound so good to me and I am sorry. Backs are tricky areas (I'm not a physio but I think they're all muscles and spine?) so perhaps one cannot have something that 'mends' all areas but, if it helps with your shoulder etc then that is no bad thing. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Think you may well be right DD. Hope your pain level is not too bad today. Beryl0

Oh Beryl ...I am so glad you have got to try it..I did look into it..but the price and delivery... think it was coming form Ireland..you keep us updated...xxLove
