Hi
Since all the fuss last Sunday with the trip in an ambulance and lots of Entonox thanks to a slipped disc  I have spent a drug induced haze filled week thanks to plenty of Oromorph, Diazepam, Gabapentin and many others......
I have tried to have a bit of a routine, meaning getting out of bed, trying to have a shower ( well standing under shower and washing what i can reach! ) get dresssed. Then, I am spending the day bargaining with myself about when is it reasonable to get back into my PJ`s and crawl back in to bed. Yesterday I was back in my pit by 2.30 pm  . Today I was sat on my bed , crying, feeling very sorry for myself that it is the weekend, the time when people who are not in constant pain, go out to places, do things (???) and my daughter then asked what was wrong. I just said " I hurt" and she said "oh sorry" and gave me a hug. :(
So , I am looking for my stamina. I should be able to stay out of bed until at least 9 pm at my age (44) but I am embarrassed to say that I am again in my nighty, in bed before 6pm on a Saturday night!!
So if you see my stamina wandering around looking confused and lost, please send it back!!!
NB

At least you're not alone. I lost mine a few years ago and now mostly in bed by 6:00 too (afternoon nap too and a leisurely morning).

I really hear your frustration!! As if the pain wasn't enough already.

    Feel better soon.

Sorry Nearly, have some hugs x

My daughter asked me earlier what was wrong, I said I'm sore. She looked at me oddly and asked me to repeat myself. She said oh my, I thought you said SOBER and I was really worried. Haha, made me laugh! (for what it's worth, I generally don't drink!) x

    Hi Nearly

I wonder whether your stamina is with Cris skezier's 'cope' :?

That went missing about 5 years ago, despite being sighted form time to time around the country and even captured once or twice, remains AWOL.

To be fair to yourself this sort of thing isn't something you ' bounce back' from. It may take a while longer before you have the energy to stay up longer.

Take care and remember weekends are for resting too :?

    Love and ((()))

Hi Barbara, Maria, Anna, Toots, and Toni
It is good to know I am not the only one. I feel so old and boring! I look on Facebook and people are all living their lives, (or so it seems) so i log off!
Toni, how is our Cris? I do miss her posts and tell her i was asking after her please xxx
I have done the usual this morning. Up , brew, few pills, bit of cereal, few more pills, shower & dress, few more pills and a spoonful of Orormorph. Now I am back on the bed!
It looks like a lovely sunny Sunday morning today. Oh the things I could do! But I will nosey on here, read my Kindle and rest.
I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday and thanks for your support. it really does mean a lot xxx

Mine beggured off years ago - I don't think it will ever return and I can't say I blame it, there's not much for it here. If you need to go to bed then go to bed. If you want to stay in your PJs then stay in your PJs. You need to be doing what you need to do, not what you think you should be doing. Your body is demanding rest so let it have it because that way lies improvement. DD

I'm sorry things are so rough for you right now, NB. I hope the back eases up soon. Then your stamina will, hopefully return.

Hello NB. Sorry you are feeling so rough and hope your 'lost' stamina will soon be back. If I suddenly get any extra (hardly likely as think mine has gone AWOL too!), I will send some your way.

Take care and have a few gentle (((()))) to help. Beryl

    Morning NB
Hope your feeling a little better
I was just thinking about your post and how we all feel
I do think we have stamina we live every minute, every hour, every day, every week, every month and every year with our conditions the average Joe ( sorry to anyone on here called Joe) would not be able to go what we do and not give up
We are strong people we get through each and every day good or bad to the best of our abilities most would give up but WE don't
I've realised we are all hard on ourselves and I'm no exception we need to be a little kinder to our selves
I realised this on Saturday after my tribunal I had my best friend with me who whilst we were outside waiting for her hubby to pick us up became really emotional and said I didn't realise how hard its for you and rattle on about how bad work is not realising what you go,through every day
So from now on I'm,going to try and be kinder to myself, we all need to be
    Maria :)

    Hi and morning everyone
Thank you for your replies xx
I didn`t sleep very well last night, each time I tried to get in a comfy position, another bit of me started to complain
So I gave up trying and got up to take my first pills with a coffee.
Now that everyone has left for school/college/work and am sitting/laying on the bed (yes again!) trying to get through to the hospital to book my nerve conduction test for my hand/wrist.
Maria, It is funny that my friend made me think about how strong I am also. She rang for a chat and asked the inevitable "how are you?" and instead of saying OK as I often do as it is easier, I told her, then apologised for telling her. She surprised me by saying she thinks I am the bravest person she knows, living with my arthur, my pains, going through lots of major surgery in the past 5 years. I thanked her, but I feel anything but brave, however it really was nice to hear how others view me. I often feel embarrassed when people say, are you not back at work yet? or are you not better yet? and I just say no,not yet as I can`t be bothered explaining! This next week is going to be a big one for me, workwise, as I see Occ Health on Wednesday and have my HR Sickness Review next Monday.
I still feel wiped out, but I am still here battling on!!
    take care xx

    Hi NB
I wish you all the best for your occ health and HR appointment I hope it goes well
It is quite daunting over the last 4 years at work I must have been sent to occ health doctor at least 6-7 times he always treated we with its good to see you again Maria
The HR meetings were always difficult for most of them I took my union rep with me which really helped
Do you have someone to go with you?
Don't let them intimidate you as that seems their aim to,get you all flustered
    Go,get em girl!
    Maria :)

    Hi Maria
yes I have a union rep coming with me. I got a letter last week confirming the date and time, but asking me to let them know if I want it at home or at work, and with a copy of my last Occ Health report and a copy of the Trust`s Managing Attendance Policy for me to look at. I haven`t rung them yet to say where want it. I am worried about it being at work, if I am upset at the outcome and I see my colleagues. But I am not sure i want them in my home, as I feel my guard will be down, although the Union Rep has spoken to HR and they say it is not a disciplinary type meeting just a meeting to see how they can support me back into work. Hmm really?!!

Hi NB, I think mine has gone on a jolly with your's & Maria's!! I have been feeling exhausted the last week and I've been going to bed early and wake up feeling like I've only had an hour's sleep and end up going back to sleep till 10am only to still feel like I need a sleep still! The weekend I've been having a lie-in till 11am got up crawled downstairs done a little bit of stuff and feel asleep on the settee!! This morning I feel like I need matchsticks to hold my eyes open! I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling like this! What's going on with us!!!

Hi and thanks Bubbadog, Beryl, Toni & Cris
I had a very sleepy day yesterday after a poor night.
Today I was determined to do better! I slept a little better than the previous night, and so decided to start my day with my physio exercises, and a bit of balance exercise( eg stand still and see if I can keep my centre of balance,....nope!) on the Wii fit. I thought I had done well, and was feeling quite proud until the Wii insulted me by telling me my Wii fit age is 64! 20 years older than my true age. However 64 is a lot younger than I feel most days!!!
I am feeling tired again now and have taken more pills and am on the bed
I am off for my Occ Health appointment tomorrow, so wish me luck!

Oh ignore the Wii, NB. I have done ever since I tried the golf and realised I couldn't even hang on to the 'club'/console let alone swing it  Well done on trying though. I hope the Occy Health goes OK>

Hi NB, Hope the Occ Health appt goes well and you get everything soerted out. I'm still feeling like an 80yr old so don't you worry about the Wii saying your age is that of an 64yr old! Let us know how you get on with Occ.

    Hi thankyou Mig and Bubbadog
I have my appointment at 1.30, Mr NB has to work and since my slipped disc on top of my other issues, I am struggling to drive our car. My Mum has offered to drive me there, which i am grateful for. The Occ Health office is not very accessible, with old stone steps outside and no hand rail. Also some of the consultation rooms are up an open staircase! And I am told this office is also a physiotherpy dept!
I am feeling nervous, but I can only tell them things as they are, and what I have been advised by the hospital.
 I went upstairs to allegedly watch TV there as Mr NB was watching the footy last night. I say allegedly as I fell asleep by 8.15!!
I woke several times though in pain with my back, and awful sciatica. I suppose I should take sleep when I can get it!!
    Thanks again xx
