Hello lagloire and welcome to the forum. I've never taken cimzia though some on here do. I know 'starburst' has recently started on it and is finding it quite tough right now as she's vomiting a lot.

I hope some who take cimzia will see your post soon. In the meantime, if you put 'cimzia' into the search engine at the top right of the page, a few earlier posts come up.

    Hi
I have just taken my 4th dose of cimzia (Friday)
I still feel a bit dizzy but its less each time, no heartburn but very very strange dreams after injecting!!! For 3/4 days!!!
I inject late at night so any symptoms come overnight.

    Hi lagoire,

The healthcare at home nurse I spoke to said headaches and dizziness a few days post injection is common. I've been vomiting on and off (due to horrible headaches and dizziness) my first dose but I'm not sure if it's a coincidental bug or not. I'm having my second dose (2 injections) tomorrow, so we'll soon find out!

Do you have a nurse you can chat to about your side effects?

Thank you fordis your reply. at least I know that I am not the only one on SIMZIA.
I had my 2nd dose today and the healcare asked me to rest and lie down if feel dizzy and also make sure I eat and drink. It's what I did.
I don't know if it a coincidence, it looks like I am having a diarrhea.
    Will keep in touch.
wish you all the best.

    Hi lagloire,

Any improvement in symptoms yet for you? My hip is feeling much better as is my shoulder but my hands and wrists are still swollen - other joints are about the same. The sickness has stopped but my headaches haven't eased up at all. The pins and needles are getting worse too. I'm not too happy about all of this really.

Let your rheumatology nurse know about the poorly stomach, they might want to keep an eye on it. Take care.

Hi Kathe, I am really sorry to hear that you have infection all the time. Are you still using CIMSIA or are you on aother medication? I wish you all the best.

Now I feel dizzy rarely comparing to the first day of injection. My stomack's pain has eased, thanks God. The good thing is I feel more energetic than before but steel have pain in some parts of my body. the injection site on my left lab is not swollen anymore but there is a dark marque around. I hope it is not a signe of infection.

I have never had this med but I hope it is beginning to help matters and that you are feeling at least a little better in yourself. I wish you well. DD

I am going to have my 4th injection the 14th October and I am still feeling dizzy, having problem reading. I saw my rheumatologist's nurse last week, she asked me to caring on until my next appointment with the doctor, the 24th October.

I can see that that would be a bit worrying. Maybe you should make the dizziness clear to whoever does your next infusion before they actually do it. I hope it goes well.

Have you had any improvements at all? Are you still swollen and stiff? I've been on it just over 3 months and I'm still slowly feeling the benefit, so there's hope yet. What does your rheumatologist or rheum nurse say?

I think if you're aiming for 'pain free' you will be very frustrated. Living with arthritis is about just that. We have to determine for ourselves how much pain is acceptable. The cimzia is about reducing disease activity. You'll probably find this results in less pain but not pain free.

These meds slow the progress of the disease, for a very lucky few they do what it says on the tin and they are pain-free but for most of us they don't - they do not repair any damage which is already done. I remember being told (when I began humira three years ago) that I would be able to drop the other drugs (including the pain dullers), lose my crutches and regain a 'normal' life. I'm sure my rheumatologist didn't mean to lie but she did. I have instead added more pills, gained a rollator and today am off to visit a pain clinic. I have a normal life - it's normal for me, anyway. DD

Hi everyone, I will have my 8th injection next week on wednesday but I still have some flare up, pain, my skin is becoming very dryand now I have catched cold (caugthing, block noze and sneezing). Since two days I felt like my blood is boiling in my vein. Is anyone having these kind of reaction?
    Thank you

Lagloire, we all get colds at this time of year whether or not we have arthritis but being on medication which suppresses our immune systems makes us more vulnerable and makes the colds harder to get rid of. Please ensure that those giving you next week's infusion are aware of your cold as they might decide to postpone the infusion to enable you to fight the cold better. Meanwhile, keep well hydrated and eat foods rich in vitamin C to combat it.
