It's working for me

Five weeks ago I was in the midst of a bad flare-up and was
painfully walking with the aid of a stick or my six pack trolley.
I had an esr score of 55 and my dla was at 6.19.
My gp aspirated 55 mls of gunge from my right knee and injected
2 mls of steroids. The next day the rheumatology nurse injected a
slow release steroid into my bum and two days later I self injected
humira which I have continued to do on a fortnightly basis.
Yesterday my esr was 2 -I've never been in single figures since ra first
blobbed me 14 years ago- and my dla was 1.07 which more than
satisfies my rheumatology team that humira is working for me.
I celebrated with a large slug of Jamesons, another favourite tipple,
and would have driven down to Birmingham today to watch the
cricket, but for another reason I've had to give up my driving
licence and the Chief Fairy is going shopping.
Taking all things into consideration I am v happy at the moment and
may have a couple of black pudding (one with one baht) for lunch.

Woo hoo! That's excellent news, ichabod. Long may it continue. I may join you in a tipple later but I think it will have to be wine or cider today. As for the cricket - I don't know what the weather's like at Edgebaston but here it's damp and none too warm. Better to sit in front of the TV or TMS with the JamesonsIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Oh I am so pleased for you, that is very good news. The humira seems to be doing its thing so let's hope that continues, yes? I wish you very well, Ichabod. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Thanks for this ladies all.
I enjoyed my lunch and am now on sky sports watching the
one dayer.
I'll save my big celebration for tomorrow night. It's my
grandson's 21 birthday which will be an early evening posh
meal followed by a pee up which will last longer for him than
it will for me.0 -
I hope you all have a very good time tomorrow evening and that you are able to last a little longer than you think. Please have one for me. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Thanks for all your kind messages, ladies.
I do feel good at the moment, but I am well aware that there
are downs as well as ups.
On behalf of Arthritis Care I am going to make a presentation to
NICE. It has been postponed from October to January but if I
continue to feel as I do I shall certainly push the case for humira.
I had a very good meal last night, some pints of real ale and a
couple of slugs of Jamesons and good company - the 21 year old
grandson, his sister, his mum, his dad, his nana et moi et je pense que
je may well need a hair of le chien, just to things right.0 -
Glad you enjoyed it ..nothing nice than good ale and company... you keep up the good work..Love

So, was it, indeed, a hair of the dog day, ichabod?
That sounded like a brilliant day.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
