I am sick and tired of careless postmen, they can get away with not doing their job because no one cares or monitors about what they do or how they don't do it. Too many cards are shoved through our letterbox with the 'We tried to deliver . . . ' Really? Here's a novel idea - knock on the door so I know you're there. It's called doing your job.

Privatisation should lead to competition and thus choice of service provider (although that already exists for parcels). The RM does offer good value for money, and they have served me well in the past week with delivering important stuff when they said they would at a fraction of the cost I would have shelled out in doing it for myself. Yes, their profits have recently increased but at the cost of a greatly reduced level of service. I guess we can't have it all ways. DD

We are fed up with 'losing' post and parcels in the post, its crime no one will take notice of, steeply rising prices and poor service. Time for RM to go private!

I vote NO too, if it is sold it will most likely go to a foreign buyer and I'm fed up with so many of our organizations being bought by other country's. I do agree that there needs to be competition but soon we wont own anything in this country

Initially I can see lots of little franchises starting up, lots of competition, parcels getting delivered with gold ribbons round them and then a couple of companies will emerge as doing the best job, get sold off and we will be back to square one.
