Favourite sandwiches?

What are your favourites?
I ask because I’ve just eaten one of mine. Wholemeal bread (always. I see no point in white bread apart from baguettes. Might as well eat cotton wool) spread with pesto and filled with tomatoes (today, sundried) covered with a very thin layer of grated cheddar. Wonderful!
Another favourite is – take a deep breath - marmite, chopped celery, raisins and toasted flaked almonds. When I first saw it written down I could hardly bring myself to try it (I think it was the combination of marmite and raisins that worried me) but, for me, it works.
Probably my staple is tuna, mayo with olives (green).
Over to you.

Wholemeal bread, no butter, grated (or if being greedy sliced) very mature cheddar and a generous dollop of Branston. Job done. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Nuggy bread
'proper' butter ( )
Brie and cucumber
or
tomato, mozzarella and pesto
OR hard boiled sliced egg with tomato on very very fresh white bread
Mmmmmm.......

I think I may have mentioned mine on another post, but here it is
in detail; boiled black pudding allowed to cool and then placed on
good thick sliced bread. Make two sandwiches one with a dressing of
English mustard one without. Eat both in a sunny kitchen and wash
down with a pint of home brewed ale.
I think I'll have 'em for my tea.0 -
A really good pumpernickel and any extra-aged cheese.
Whole grain bread, pesto, turkey and tomato, fresh basil. Mmmmm
And the favorite favorite; bacon, lettuce, basil and/or cilantro and tomato on whole grain bread.
Here's one to try; my 10 yr old nephew's invention: whole grain bread, tinned smoked oysters, lettuce and cheese. (after the initial shock of his choice of ingredients it was surprisingly good)0 -
Frog, could you elucidate please? What is 'nuggy' bread? :? Je suis une bemused DD. :oops:Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I love Pork & Stuffing on a bap! Just had a little argument with OH as we haven't had one of them in ages!!0

Joan – marmite and banana sounds so unlikely a combination I might just have to try it. I do banana with peanut butter.
DD – I have discovered that grated and sliced cheese are very different beasts. There's much more flavour in grated. I think it's something to do with fat globules and taste buds.
Toni – definitely proper butter rather than chemicals. But butter with brie? I, too, need to know what nuggy bread is. Granary?
Then, of course, there are USA sandwiches – mayo, mustard, tuna, avocado, olives, coriander, shredded lettuce, spinach, tomato, pepper. These must be eaten in private so there are no witnesses to the mess I achieve and usually over two sessions as I can't manage a whole one.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I still love banana and crunchy peanut butter ones. Haven't had apple for ages but must try it again - grated apple with cinnamon.
I haven't bought Heinz salad cream since they doubled the price without changing any of the ingredients because they wanted it to seem a more upmarket product. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

My son left his lunch at home today
