The 3 children have been back a week or two and they are already coming home without lunch boxes. uniform etc, especially my son at Special school.

Now I remember seeing a system where you attach a coloured label for each item on the outside of the school rucksack and as a visual reminder to children so they can bring each item home again but I can't find any information on it via google.

Does anyone use this system or can let me know where I can buy similar?
thanks in advance,
Elizabeth

Could you do a DIY version with a bundle of those dirt cheap coloured plastic key/luggage tags and a carabiner/swivel hook to attach them to, which in turn could be clipped to the rucksack?

    Hi Elizabeth

    Already??

This site does some lovely labels and tags

Might be able to link them to each child by colour too?

Thank you. I was tempted daffy to create my own system! If I remember rightly the one i saw was like tags with writing on and they clip onto the rucksack. the child only has to look at the tags to see what to take home.

I've labelled everything Toni and Barbara but it doesn't seem to help!

I'm sure it was the Great little TC I saw it in originally but couldn't find it on their website.

Thanks Wazz. i've just ordered a pack of key tags. I'll draw a picture of each item on the label and attach the key fob as and when needed for his easy reference. Its mostly for my autistic boy as the others do a good job now they are older.
He should be okay with a safety pin as long as he isn't bored as he is well known for chewing metal.

I hope the home visits go well Wazz. I love the OT staff as they really shed light on the reasons behind certain behaviour and this helps you to emphasise with them. Also certain excersises help to make them more aware of their surroundings.

sadly the OT after school club stopped last year as my son seemed to be enjoying it.

    Hi
I just had name labels sewn in both my children's school clothes which seemed to work
My son lost his whole PE kit once in junior school no idea what happened to it as it never turned up in lost property

Mine did too! A brand new senior school PE Kit in the first week. it was never found again and I had to pay for a new kit and trainers.

I reckon somebody either chucked it on the school roof for a laugh or took it home for themselves.
