As I am profoundly deaf, the sensory team which is part of social services has provided me with things like fire alarm, alarm clock, door bell etc for my home.

I was wondering if there was another part of the social services team which would provide anything for the home to allow me to live easier with my OA and Tarsal Coalition of my feet?

I wondering about grab rails and things like that?

Thank you.

When I needed hand rails on the stairs I contacted (on the advice of the rheumatology physio) my local Social Services who duly obliged. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

I agree, the occupational therapy team should be able to help. Your local social services will have a number to call and the process should be relatively simple.

    Hi,

The OT arranged for our disability extension, wetroom, grab rails etc so I'd definitely try them first. We weren't referred we just rang & asked for help.

    Good luck.xxx

Yes, I got rails, cooking implements etc. from OT. You usually self refer.

    Hi
Yes I agree....I've got things without referral from GP
It does help if you have a physiotherapist that would refer you....ours {Physio and OT} are next door to each other.
