I'm off to the dentist to get this filling done. My tongue is so sore where it's been rubbing against my jagged piece of tooth that all I feel now is a great sense of anticipation that, in under an hour, at least one of my problems will be fixed. How good is that? And how sad? DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

It is very good indeed. At the very least it is one problem less. I wish you a pain-free extraction and award you the order of the drinking straw for the rest of the morningIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Thinking of you DD. Hope it all goes well. Am sure it won't be as bad as you think. Beryl. (())0

Sorry. I got carried away there and confused your filling with Mr SW's extraction of last week. I still hope it is/was pain-free and you and your tongue will now be much more comfortable. You'll still need the straw but at least you will be able to have a nice crunchy apple or stick of celery later. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi DD
sorry if I am bit late, but I hope the appointment went well and you now have a lovely smooth tooth again!!
Be careful with your numb mouth until it wears off, no dribbling you tea!!

Hello DD,
Sorry I'm a bit late but hope all went well and that you are resting now in less tooth and mouth pain.

Thank you everyone, it went far better than I was anticipating and I now feel a bit of a clot for making so much fuss. I am repaired, a tad sore but OK. She drilled away the jagged bit, filled and then removed all the plaque etc that had built up over the years. I am due to go back for a six-month check-up on April 1 2014 and, being a generally obedient and sensible girl, I will do just that. I have been an idiot to avoid a dentist for so long and I am grateful that things are not worse. I am un-numbing now but will still sup my tea through a straw, just to give things time to settle. Brave? Moi? Bless your heart, Joan, I am anything but but I can find the courage to confront things to get them over and done with - I learned that lesson very young from my mum, she taught me well. Lunch was a tin of baked beans, with added paprika and chilli powder for a bit of colour and kick. Nice and soft.
Hello louisarm, how kind of you to post, it's lovely to hear from you. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -

Thank you one and all, I am pleased to report that it's still in place! I have been careful with it but my lunch today may be a tad challenging: crunchy white baguette with a smooth paté followed by Jaffa cakes with a cuppa. I fancied a treat so I am going to have one. I have to say that my teeth are feeling much cleaner and I am going to keep using the sonic toothbrush I inherited from Ma - she bought it but never used it. It was helping my teeth before and I am sure will be of even more benefit now. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hello DD. Am glad to know you are progressing ok after your dental visit yesterday. Hope you enjoyed your lunch - would liked to have joined you, I love baguette and pate. Beryl0

It was scrummy but I am experiencing some payback after yesterday's thirty minutes in the chair. My neck and jaw are not happy which is a minus. My tongue, however, is healing and feeling much more comfortable which is a plus. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hope your aches settle soon and you can continue to enjoy the pluses! xToots x0
