Hi
And the appointments are still coming!! Thursday have my first appointment at the Glaucoma Clinic at 9.10 am. I am being chauffeured there as I have been advised not to drive as they put drops in my eyes to dilate the pupils. My Mum has Glaucoma and has had to have drops for years to try to reduce the pressures in her eyes, but when this failed she had to have surgery to have a `hole` cut in her eyeball to try to reduce the pressures. This has helped a little, but not a pleasant op. I have annual checks because of her diagnosis as it can be hereditary, and my recent eye checks shows abnormal pressures.
Then in the afternoon on Thursday, i have my next meeting with work/manager HR & union to discuss my future at work. I am very worried about this as it feels they are not keen on having me back in my role and I feel they will try to find a way of finishing me or moving me to a role that pays less (but they will try to cover their backs whilst doing it!!)
I would appreciate any company xx

I'll be with you too NB if there is some space available. Do hope all goes well for you. Beryl. xx0

Hi
Thankyou Joan and Beryl, yes there will be lots of room! The more the merrier? or will it be safety in numbers??!!
I haven`t really thought about my eyes with all the other stuff going on, but today I have had an awful head ache above and around my eyes and eye pain. Maybe something to mention at the Eye clinic, but maybe a stress headache?
I feel so worried about my work meeting. They really have made me feel undervalued over the past few weeks!
Thanks again xx

hello NB
Gosh you are busy..I will be there and good luck with both appointments...xxLove

Count me in, NB. My father-in-law had glaucoma and it made night-driving impossible for him. As they lived about 120 miles away it meant winter visits had to be planned carefully. I hope all goes well with both appts. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi
Thanks Barbara and Sticky
Hmm could be a problem with driving with Glaucoma? I have just got an automatic car, that means it drives itself, right??!! (only kidding, honest!!)
NB0 -
I'll be there too. I wish you the best with both appts. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi
Thnaks DD, Maria, Toots, Salamander, & Meg
I will have to wear something will deep pockets to fit everyone in xx
I am feeling nervous about the work meeting again. A lottery win would be good right now! And I could tell them where to stick their job
I am feeling exhausted today, I fell asleep early last night, BIG mistake!! That meant waking every hour from midnight, not helped by a snoring Mr NB :x
I have a quiet day today, probably a good thing as it is cold wet and miserable here. A bit like me!!
Keep your joints warm every body xx

Hope all went well yesterday NB sorry I wasn't about xxSmile a while and while you smile
smile another smile and soon there

just because you smiled I wish your

Hope both appointments went well yesterday. You made me chortle with the comment about automatic cars! But wouldn't it be good if they did??0

Hi
Well the first appointment - Eye clinic- good news!! NO Glaucoma!!
I have to keep having my annual checks because my Mum has Glaucoma, but it is one thing I can tick off my list of ailments!!!
My second appointment on Thursday - work HR meeting- pretty much a mixed bag of stuff. My manager read out the minutes of the last meeting, outlining the issues noted regarding my restrictions and how they will affect part of my role. I then explained how i have thought of some solutions and was feeling optimistic, until my own Union rep shot me in the foot and put a spanner in the works with "Health and Safety"!! So they are going to look into the possibility of them buying me some equipment and it being checked for Health and safety.
I went in feeling quietly optimistic and came out feeling more confused than ever!! I have to wait to hear if they can get the equipment, and if will be passed as ok for me to use.
Oh and I sneaked another appointment in yesterday, OT visit review.
So next week I have 2 more appointments, Tuesday an assessment for Aquamobility, and Thursday my MRI scan.
Thankyou all for your support
NB0 -
i think I'm getting dizzy with all these appointments That's very good news about the glaucoma, NB. (I presume you know you get free eye tests owing to your mother's glaucoma?)
As for work, let's hope for the best.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Good news about yr eyes NB. Guess it is a question of 'wait and see' re your work. Will be available for pocket duties if required next week. Hope yr appointments go well.
Beryl. xx0 -
Hi NB
Great news that you don't have glaucoma...like I said I have to go every year....same reason....my mam has it. Up to now things have been OK so lets hope they stay like that for bot of us
Love

Hi
I'm glad your eye appointment went well
As for work and HR hmmm I understand the health and safety I had to have a risk assessment and a so called care plan( good old NHS ) afterwards that had to be regularly updated even though it wasn't and half the stuff on it my ward manager ignored! It's all to do with protecting their ar**s ad not protecting you! Or have I just got cynical in my old age!
Your union rep may have a point and be wanting to protect you although frustrating for you
Have they set another date for review?
I hope it all goes in your favour
Keep on trucking
Maria0 -
Busy busy you Nearly
Great news the glaucoma isn't there, but I know you have to be checked regularly with your Mum.
Mmmm...I too would be confused after that meeting at work :? Hopefully as Maria says the Union rep is genuinely being supportive - safety first and all that
I hope you get on ok with aquamobility assessment that would be helpful and Thursday the MRI you can count me in for both.
Love

Hi
Thanks Sticky, Beryl,Maria, Hileena and Toni
Yes I know about the free eye tests re Glaucoma, and go yearly.
I am waiting patiently to hear from work about whether they are able to get me the required/suggested equipment, and if it will be passed by Health and safety. I am not sure what will happen if it is not??
Maria, they have not booked another review meeting as such, as the HR man said if the equipment is purchased etc and OH reassses me and say I am ok to work using this equipment, I can have my phased return etc... But a lot is hanging on the approval of the equipment, and my MRI results!
I am waiting in at home this morning for the stuff ordered for me by OT last week.
Thanks again for your support x

Hi NB, Glad the news was good about your Glaucoma test, my next door neighbour who is a good friend has just been diagnosed with it and I feel for her as she is deaf as well. Hope the news about the Health & Safety at work is good as well.
Will be happily in your pocket for Tomorrow for the Aquamobility assessment and Thursday for the MRI. Hope you come back with more good news!0
