hi all, hope you are all well, i have been a regular visitor but just read the posts, now could you help?
like i said advice would be great, i have been off meds for 20 months now and in great pain, visible damage and now i have new symptoms which include pain in the neck, shoulders and what feels like shoulder blades (i'm hoping)!!! i have pain when i breath in, which is coming from the shoulder blades and its so bad i can't get out of bed by myself.
i have been trying to conceive for about 18 months now with no luck and now have a cyst on my left ovary and been waiting for 3 months for a scan regarding what its doing, once i have that it may need removing or can be drained, still unsure, my family think i should take a brake and get on meds for about a year then try again? knowing the nhs it will take months to sort out the cyst and in the mean time i am still struggling like crazy.
my worry is with the nhs system they will make me wait a year before seeing my gynecologist when i'm ready to start again or the medications cause more problems.
my family seam to tell me whats best in their opinion and don't seam to want to listen to my needs.
sorry long post just don't know where to turn x

Hello, it's nice to meet you and I hope the forum can help with information and support. I too had an ovarian cyst, it weighed in at a mighty 3.8 kilos and I didn't know it was there until it twisted on its stem, destroying itself and its attached organ. I ran on one cyclinder for a year or so then had an early menopause.
Obviously not being on any arthritis meds means that things can be active again and obviously they are. I can't advise on the cycst, gynae etc because the maternal gene totally bypassed me but I do wonder about your age. Would another year of a better-quality life arthritis-wise and getting the cyst sorted be so bad? Only you can make the final decision. I am an only child, my parents never knew why mum did not conceive again but as it turned out it was just as well she didn't! I wish you well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Hiya,
What medication was you on before ?. once you get your cyst sorted - would it be possible to conceive on your medication ?
I am on Sulfa and as far as I know i would be able to conceive on it and carry them on during pregnancy x0 -
Hello and welcome from me too.
It seems to me the cyst must be your first priority.
Could you explain what you yourself feel your needs are, dee81? (You say your family don't want to listen to them.)If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hello dee and a warm welcome from me
I agree with SW the cyst needs to be sorted first, we have quite a few mums on the forum that came off there meds while trying and being pregnant..it must be an hard thing to do ..but the end results are worth it..I really do wish you well for the future..xxLove

Another thought has struck me - will you be fit enough to look after a newborn plus a four year old? Surely the physical demands on you will more than double if you have two small children to care for. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hello Dee, here are my comments for what they are worth (and they are meant kindly)
Having experienced the joy of a child, you will appreciate the demands that pregnancy made upon your body. My feeling is that you haven't conceived because Mother Nature has recognised that at this point in time, you probably aren't well enough to. That doesn't mean that you never will and you must always carry hope in your heart. However, I feel the focus should be preparing 'adequately' for that new pregnancy. Why don't you pop along to your doctor and have a chat. A good GP will listen to your concerns and guide you.
My very best wishes and I hope things go well for you0
