Coming of medication to try for baby

Hi I was considering coming off my medication to try for a baby with my wife. I am on tocuilizamab and would have to come of for 3 months before starting to try. I was wondering if anyone else had come off medication and what was it like. The last time i was off medication I had to take steroids to try and keep it under control but I was having to take 30mg a day minimum and couldn't drop of that. If I went below it just flaired up. I was also taking a lot of maxi tram as well as the steroids. I just don't know if I can take it and was wondering if there was anything else I could take. I am 34 and am starting to run out of time. Any advice would be great fully recieved.
Apologise if this doesn't make sense but I am typing it out on my phone.
Thanks

This is a topic which came up about a year ago if I remember rightly. It's tricky, isn't it. Being a woman, I've no experience of the male side of things though I'd to come off my meds during pregnancies and it was tough.
We get a few women on here who have the same problem but I only remember that one man and I'm not sure what he did in the end.
It sounds as if it would be very hard for you and possibly just as hard to get stabilised on meds again.
Have you considered adoption? I have a wonderful adopted grandson. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hello,
I have no experience of this personally as id had my children young, b4 my Psoriatic Arthritis kicked in & I'm female, I know how lucky I am!!
Like SW has said, being a parent, be it biologically in some way or thru adoption, is 100% worth wot ever it takes to achieve it!! I've only read of women on here that have stopped meds to try & get pregnant & I take my hat off to you all.
For completely different reasons I've been off of my DMARD for 3 months, my psoriasis is in a huge flare as is my PsA. It's like having glass shards running in my veins at the moment. My hips etc are giving way & seizing up so I can then only drag my right leg whilst trying to walk with crutches.
I'm not trying to put you off but I am trying to give you some sort of reminder of wot you MAY have to face!! I know wot I would do but the decision has to be yours!! ((((hugs))))
Perhaps a chat with the AC Team would help?
All the very best of luck.xxxHealing Hugs

I started this in March this year (I have RA).
I came off Meth and was put on Sulpha.
Within 4 weeks I was in a very bad way, could hardly walk, was off work with stress and took a very bad viral infection.
In June I was a bit better and managed a break down in Cornwall, however I ended up in hospital for 2 days whilst in Cornwall as I had a severe attack of my breast bone being inflamed (same syptoms as a heart attach).
So after much discussion I went back on the Meth in July.
On a low dose at the moment.
I am still not 100% but better than I was.
I am back at the hospital in 2 weeks for another chat with my consultant to see what I can do from here. I am not giving up the fight yet.
But one thing is for sure, its not an easy process and takes a lot of strength.0 -

Hello krusty
Lovey to meet you.
I do hope you will are are getting support form your doctor with this issue.
I have one idea....maybe not brilliant, but worth considering??? How would you feel about having sperm frozen ASAP after the 3 months so you can use other methods for your wife to get pregnant' then you can get back on your meds quicker??
Please do let us know how you get on
Love
