HI
Tomorrow is another busy day in the life of NB. I have a physio appointment in the morning (aka pain camp!!)
Then at 4.15 (a bit of a funny time?!!) I have my MRI of my lumbar spine. I am dreading it as 1. I have to lie in my back -ouch
2. It is noisy and a claustrophobic experience- yuk
Mr NB was able to come with me , but he has now got work on (the joys of him being self employed, changes all the time!)
I will ask them to play some nice music through the head set and also am going to ask if I can go `in` feet first so my head is out of the tube. They did this at my last one in December after I had a bit of a melt down whilst inside, but this is at a different hospital. But i can only ask!!

Count me in on both, NB. I rather enjoy physio so, if there are two couches, I'll get up on the other and have a crack at the exercises too.
Good idea re the scanner. Asking is free.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Count me in NB. I'm not a fan of them either, the noise doesn't bother me but the claustrophobia does!!

Count me in NB not a fan of them either but when needs must, here's hoping they will allow you to go in feet first, hope the physio's not too hard on you......................Marie xxSmile a while and while you smile
smile another smile and soon there
will be miles and miles of smiles
just because you smiled I wish your
day is full of Smiles0 -
Would love to be there- but MRI's freak me out!!!! Shall just send positive thoughts instead.

I've only ever gone in as far as my nose - they told me to bring a book to read but it wouldn't fit in the gap between my nose and the scanner.
Right, we know they are not fun but they don't last forever - they are a useful and necessary evil. Take some dullers an hour or so beforehand, keep your eyes closed and your breathing even and it will soon be over. I will be there pulling faces at you through the glass. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Sow another pocket on ur outfit im coming along too. Im currently awaiting an mri myself but had one a year or two ago also they def not the nicest of things to be in.
Hope they let you go in the way your abit more comfortable with and hope all goes well for you.0 -
Reporting for duty NB! Hope they allow you to go in feet first and make the experience a little easier on you xToots x0

Hi
Wow! Thankyou all for your support. I am so very grateful xx
DD I laughed and nearly spit out my coffee reading that you will be pulling faces through the glass!! I will hold that thought!!
Good luck with yours Annie when you get your appointment.
Sticky, I would love a physio buddy!! We can laugh at each other when we get stuck or can`t do the exercises they suggest!! I enjoy appointments with my physio as she is very good, but tomorrow is with the assistant and she is a slave driver!!
I am taking plenty of dullers before hand (as prescribed!!) and will try to keep calm. Urgh! I hate MRI`s, I think I will get a T shirt printed!!
Thanks again x

Hi NB,
Happy to squeeze in with the rest. I've never had an MRI myself, but I'm familiar with pain camp. I'll be sending positive vibes throughout the experience
Best wishes,
PheePsA (psoriatic arthritis) and other things since 1990. Happy to help when I can :-)0 -

Hi
Well I am glad that is over with!! Lying on that MRI table on my back, after a gruelling physio session, is bad enough, but add in the noise and claustrophobic surroundings, and I am done in! They were very understanding of my worries and let me go in feet first again.
I was in as far as my nose , and so could just about tip my head back and see the ceiling tiles, just. I was starting to feel panicky and luckily she came in the room to get me out as it was over. My results go back to my GP, but my physio says she will be able to see the MRI/results at my next appointment next Thursday, as it is the same Trust and they can get online.
So I am in my PJ`s (have been for a while now!!) fire on, blanket over me, dosed up on dullers, although not feeling any relief yet.
I have another appointment tomorrow with the exercise people I had my assessment with on Tues. I am expecting to be feeling very stiff and sore tomorrow morning so will see how I feel about going.
Have a nice evening x
