My BB came through today after an assessment last week. I'm so relieved.

That's the good news, the bad news is I feel terrible.

    Hi Salamander,

well done for getting your BB, somebody loves you :D Is a BB for life or do you have to apply every few years?

    Oh you poor thing!! :(

I didn't know you had to have an assessment :( Mine was a photocopy of DLA highest rate mobility & my Mum ticked a box to say they could ask her GP, she has OA in her knees & that was that for us both. Mine is a 3 year badge but my DLA is 5 yr award.

    I hope you feel better soon. Please take a spoon & a ((((( )))))

    Thanks!

I have to reapply every three years at the moment. I ticked all the boxes and sent letters but my council sends everyone who isn't on high rate mobility for assessment.

    It's a life saver.

DD, am on virtually no meds at the moment, waiting for results from my scan, which is next week.

Oh they do take their word it's just 'procedure.' Actually, the assessor was very nice and let me out of the side door as it was a shorter walk back to the car.

It's a scan of my head and entire spine so will take an hour. An hour in the scanner! It's so claustrophobic in there!

Good news about the BB. I hope the week passes asap and you can get back on some meds. It sounds rather nasty right now.

Thanks everyone. I've just realised I am ill (sore throat etc.) so am ensconced on the sofa with a cup of tea and my laptop, about to have a snooze.

You are having a rough time at the moment, I remember a three-month spell sans meds and it was not pleasant. :( My BB is up for renewal next March, I think the cost has risen to £10 but I don't know if an assessment will be required. Clatterator to the fore if it is, methinks. Good luck with the scan, keep your eyes closed and think lovely thoughts. DD

Well, I didn't have to pay for mine at least. I'm sure you'll get it DD. I put a reply up to sticky's comments (basically ha ha) but it disappeared.

They want to put me on Sulphasalazine next but waiting for result of the scan. I'd like to think I could do without meds but no hope.

Well Done on getting your BB! I have to apply every 3 years as well, I have to show I get DLA Higher rate to get one. I have to go to Neighbourhood council to get mine in person now. Mine runs out next December. :)
