PIP Decision!

Hello hope everyone is okish.
Due to my condition worsening dramatically this year and me becoming more dependent on a few people I bit the bullet and applied for PIP. I have never applied for anything before but thought it was about time I admitted I'm just not coping.

Following the initial phone call I was sent a form which took around 3 weeks to arrive, yet they gave me around 10 days to return it.
Smelling a rat I returned the form by special delivery next day service (£6.25) and I received confirmation it had arrived at its destination the day before the deadline.

You have probable guessed the rest... I received a letter 2 days ago (1 month and 4 days later) to say I was not entitled to it because my form arrived too late!!!
I rang to say I had a receipt and email to confirm it had...I was put on hold several times and the outcome is they will try to ring me within 5 days but will probably end up sending me new forms to start the process again!....is this just delay tactics? Its appalling service.... How would being late returning a form be the basis of a decision to end someones entitlement to anything be a fair way to assess things? Is this how things are?

They insisted on a mobile number, but I wont be able to answer it in work.

They've already admitted they are under lots of pressure because it is taking so much longer then expected to change everyone over!

That's is an absolute joke though! I can't do telephone call so I'd be stuffed is this happens to me

As a lot of you know, I've had all sorts of fun with them! Sending me someone else's papers!! They can't arrange a p up in a brewery!! And to top it all off it's a private company dealing with it that the government has paid for to assist the DWP! And they are obviously not talking to each other causing all sorts of cock ups!! They should be apologising to you and looking at the forms you have already sent you not sending out more forms it's a joke and the press should be told about about this whole mess so the whole world can see how incompetent this government truly is !!! Sorry for ranting!! :oops:

Hello Ruby its lovely to see you around and hope your family are doing well..this is disgusting treatment and showing them up for what they are, can you not get cab on to them, like someone else has said this is definitely delaying tactics...good luck with it all and please let us know how you get on..xx

Than you for your replies. I don't feel so bad now!
Still no call to date so I will get onto them tomorrow as I am off sick now (can't move today).
Mike 26 Thanks I didnt copy it I ran out of time , it was a short turn around time and it took me ages to fill in and get my point across carefully, but I will certainly copy anything else I get from them.
I wasn,t changing from DLA this was my first claim for anything, as I was in the relevant postcode.

Can you appeal seeing you have proof that they received it. it might just turn up in a drawer somewhere?

I certainly wouldn't let this drop. they often use the excuse it never arrived in time but you have confirmation so the onus is on them to find it.

Just rang them again because the phone call has never arrived.
Lady said they had emailed me and had sent out new forms as the others are lost.

Checked my emails and I had not been sent one so I rang them back to log it.

Man said they don't have my email details so I wont have been sent one, and despite the first man asking for my mobile number as that was their preferred method of contact there is no record of anyone being asked to ring me back.

* no email
* no record to ring me

Yet my supporting documents were returned! .....Hey 1 out of 5! not looking good this idea is it?

P.S. Thanks Barbara family are doing fine....yours look good too

It is a total joke that department!! Problem is the left hand doesn't know what the right ones doing with them! You know what? someone needs to get in touch with Watchdog and have them publicised that would get things moving!!

My MP has today raised the issue and made a complaint on my behalf to the DWP.
I know I'm 1 of thousands with a complaint, but they really can not run the service in this way.
Will keep you posted.
