Greetings all.

I have RA and am currently taking 7.5mg methotrexate and 25mg injection of Enbrel. I am overseas in a tropical country and have been advised to take Albendazole - apparently we are walking petri dishes :-). Rather than wait an age for advice from my Rheumatologist, does anybody know if I can safely take this medication. It's a one of dose.

Thanks in advance........

Louise

We're not medically trained , just here to support each other so can't really advise you . All I would say however is that I would never take any medication without the say so of a trained doctor or pharmacist , you need to be sure that a new medicine won't react badly with those already taken .

I agree, talk to a professional. Is there a pharmacy where you are? It is not worth it reacting with your meds. The meds are used internationally so just make sure to talk to a pharmacist before you take them- maybe a hospital pharmacist? I know it is not how you want to spend time on holiday but it is better spending a couple of hours chasing someone down than getting sick- been there done that. Who advised you to take it, can they put you in touch with someone?
