As pain in knee is very bad can I take cocodomil instead of paracetamol with naproxen (not at same time). Does anyone know. I am not on any other meds. Thanks

Valde, we are not doctors so cannot advise. It would be best for you to go and have a word with your pharmacist, I hope your chemist's is not too far away. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

As dreamdaisy said, have a chat with a pharmacist. If you can't physically get there, some of them will do brief phone consultations. Good luck!

    Hi Valde

I currently take paracetamol during the say and co-codamol at night ad it can sometimes make me feel a but floaty. I am also taking naproxen.
My day job is a staff nurse but you don't gave to take my word for it, you should if in doubt spell to the pharmacist, but it is my understanding co codamol is a mixture of codeine and paracetamol so as long as you haven't taken either of those two within the last 4 hours you are safe to take it.

Naproxen belongs to the anti immflamatory family like ibuprofen or diclofenac, so you should not be taking them together, but an anti immflamatory is safe to take with paracetamol and codeine.

I hope this makes sense. Long and short of it is that I rake that combination of tablets so it's ok.

Apologies for all the spelling mistakes on last post. Predictor text is a right pain sometimes. Hope you still understand what I was saying. :P

For your own peace of mind you should check with a pharmacist, but yes, you can take co-codamol and naproxen at the same time (together if you want). Always take naproxen either with or just after food to protect your stomach though. Co-codamol is an analgesic and naproxen is an anti-inflammatory and are perfectly safe to take together. Don't take co-codamol and paracetamol within 4 hours of each other though - they both contain paracetamol.

Don't take naproxen and any of diclofenac or ibuprofen at the same time though.

    Hi
I take 2 x 30/500 Co-codomol, 4 times a day and 1 x 15mg Naproxen a day. I take the Naproxen and the first dose of Co-codomol together, as instructed by my GP.

This is my prescription though, so you should check with the Doctor but generally, it is ok.

Just to let you know i just been told i that i have oa
I am on Naproxen twice a day, and when I was out in shoppping with my daughter i called in the chemist and ask if i could take 2 paracemol with the naproxen but i had already taken them so if it was wrong i dont know what would happen. Which i could not understand why i did that because i am very careful with the tablets i take, because i have taken tablets which i was told it was ok to take but they caused very bad allegry and end up in hospital for 4 days with anaphylaxis shock on my daughter 18th birthday.
Thank you for the forum its helped with advice.
