And as usual, sticky brings all of us back down to earth with her most sensible advice :)

    Hi DD,

I know nothing about the drugs but think it a very sensible idea to pay the extra and have the majority of your things packed/unpacked. Surely this is a better option? I have moved a few times and have always found this a fantastic service.

Good luck with your move whatever you decide and enjoy your new home! :D

We are having the packing service for sure. Yesterday I met a very nice chap, to give the third and final quote, and he was the only one who took the arthritis into account. He came up with a number of suggestions about staggering the move, all of which were appealing as I will be staggering anyway. I will be doing all the little things such as ornaments, cadging fridge space for the humira and hiding my sharps bins in the back of my car. Bearing all of that in mind I can do without the pred.

I am teetering on the brink of a flare, I spent yesterday afternoon in bed so I could cook, cooked, then promptly undid all my good resting work. Hey-ho, another day of snoozing then an easy dinner for The Husband. I don't need this right now but then we never need it, do we? DD

Couldn't you just have a depo medrone jab? No tapering etc.

this is a lot better option , problem with pred is you will have problems coming off them , ie big flare + the other problems steriods cause

What a sensible plan DD. Hope the flare doesn't get too bad- snoozing as much as possible the way forward.

I have never had any form of relief from a depo so won't bother with that. I know about coming off pred and that holds no fears either but as I won't be taking it it's no longer an issue. I do know about pacing and being sensible so I am sure I can manage the bits I have to do; what I cannot grasp, however, is the fact that healthy people will be able to move us in our entirety in one day - just how can that be done?  DD

No. If you know your physical limits work within them and get help as and when necessary.
Best of luck with the move - it is a rotten time.

Sounds impossible to me. I had to bow out of our last move, DD. My hubby got stuck with doing all. Alas, we could not afford movers. I think having it done in one day sounds miraculous. I would definitely go that route and avoid the stress and strain. Put your feet up and :D

It's five years after our move and I'm still unpacking boxes.... :( Well, storing them mostly. I should've heaved all to the dump.....Next move I take myself and one suitcase
