The DLA/PIP Doctor is coming to assess me on Saturday, not looking forward to it, my OH is going to be with me. All I can do is answer his or her questions and see how it goes. Still can't help being a nervous wreak!!

Hi bubba
I found the person doing my assessment really nice and easy to talk to the ony thing I would watch is he asked me to tell him what I did from getting up to going to bed and I think I may have minimised the difficulty I have doing menial tasks like coming downstairs and getting in and out of bath to have a shower because when you do it everyday it becomes normal to you so you lose sight of how much you struggle. I think the DWP are the ones that are making life difficult by not having a clue about medical stuff so the more info ATOS have hopefully the better it will be understood by the powers that be. Good luck anyway.

Bubba
How awful that in your own home a stranger can come in assess you, judge you and decide if you are entitled to PIP? I cannot imagine how you must feel, if it were me it would be very angry and invaded....
I wish you all the best for saturday...

Thank you all for the good luck messages, I was an absolute mess before she came but she was very nice, my OH was with me and I was glad he was because when it came to questions about how long I had my health troubles my memory was useless! She even believes I have Epilepsy and not Non-Epileptic- Seizures and put that on the forms. She didn't push me on doing physical tests. There was a comical moment because when she came in and sat down Willow decided she wanted to sit on her lap and jumped on her and the poor Dr mentioned she was allergic to cats and had asthma!! So Phil had to lock them in the bedroom! She had to use her inhaler while she was in the house. Felt awful for her!! Will get the decision in 5-6 weeks.0

she sounds as if she may have been decent then and not too machine like. I love how your cat got in on the ambush attack! Mind you that would have been me minus the asthma, I am allergic to anything that has fur!
Really hope you get the decision and would i be right in thinking that will be just beforethe festive period?
Elainexx0 -
Well done you Bubbadog
and go Willow If I had that kind of allergy though I would have checked whether or not the houses I was visiting had cats!!
I hope the outcome is really good for you. regarding those 'non' and epileptic seizures - they are equally debilitating I think.
Take care and I look forward to hearing how you got on

Thank you again, Elaine it would be a nice Christmas present or a horrible one depending on the result if it arrives just before Christmas. She said 5-6 weeks, so will have to wait and see when it comes!
As for Willow, she always likes to welcome people and see how much fuss she can get out of people! I agree the Dr should have asked before she came if we had cats, it is important when you have asthma!!0 -
Good Luck bubba..xxLove
