1. Decide to empty bag of recyclables in green bin.
2. Look at phone as I pass. Should I take it with me? No.
3. Fail to hang onto bag and drop it, too, into near-empty bin.
4. Employ several banned forum words.
5. Return to house for long stick with which to hook bag out.
6. Look at phone in passing but continue to door.
7. While consistently failing to retrieve bag with stick, hear phone ring.
8. Employ words forum hasn't even thought to ban.
9. Rush to house in time to see word 'mobile' before phone stops.
10. Dial 1571. No message.
11. Call Mr SW's mobile in case it was him. No answer.
12. Place phone in pocket, grasp pick-up-stick, return to bin and other stick.
13. By combined use of stick, pick-up-stick, sheer bleepingmindedness, fury and lots, lots more dubious language retrieve bag while dustbin lid bangs and scrapes shoulder.
14. Brew up and quietly contemplate what dull lives those non-arthritic people lead.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I'm now using my imagination to summon up the useful expletives but am unable to write them here in order to see if I've imagined correctly :o
Perhaps you should set the whole thing out as a crossword for us? 8) Mat x

Could have been worse, sticky, you could have taken your mobile phone and dropped that in the bin. Or/and, you could have got stuck upside down in the bin with feet waving in the air. Imagine the expletives!

Oh Sticky, this is why I leave the overflowing recycling bag just inside the door so the next person who comes to visit me and asks if there is anything to do, I point at it and it disappears-Magic! :D

Sounds like an interesting escapade- maybe you should add this lot to the list you had the other day of things you didn't imagine before arthritis made your acquaintance! :o

Hope the glass of CB is a very large one- well earned I think!

Maybe tomorrow will be a peaceful one-or then again.............

Hope the shoulder isn't too sore. :(

As usual ichabod is a tad cheeky and Joan is her unique self - I laughed out loud at both answers! Numpty? You are absolutely right, I will send a virtual (and un-opened) bottle for 'the Stickster'. DD
