Sudden sore throat with Methotrexate?

Well the sulfasalazine didn't work..and I'm on Mtx now.
I've only been taking the mtx for 4 weeks, originally 10mg per week, but on Thursday night I took my first 15mg dose. The next day I developed a sudden sore throat and its still bothering me with no change today (Sunday). I've also been coughing up yellowy phlegm, but I don't have a cough - just when i feel i need to cough this stuff up if that makes sense... (although I've been coughing up phlegm for longer than I can remember, mostly not yellow though).
I remember reading something that said I had to let my doctor know if I developed a sore throat, and every time I go for bloods they ask me this.. Should I be worried? I'm going for bloods on Tuesday anyway so should maybe let the nurse know then?
Any advice would be much appreciated,
Thanks.

You shouldn't be worried, afc, but you should get it checked out.
Those of us on meth do get sore throats just as everyone else does but they should not be neglected as they might be an indication of more important stuff. Please do, tell the nurse on Tuesday. What day do you take your meth? If you're due to take some between now and then, I'd ring your helpline for advice. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hello
I would check with your gp about this if not you rheumatology helpline. I have had to have a week or so off due to illness/ mouth ulcers. Hopefully you will be fine though and it is just a standard sore throat. How am I gonna be an optimist about this?0 -
When I have a sore throat I stop my meds for a week or two (I'm an old hand at this business and this is on the advice of my rheumatology nurses) and I let them know that I have done so. Please contact your rheumatology department tomorrow, tell them what is going on and ask their advice regarding your next dose. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this.
