Hello to you all. i am new here and this is my first post..so here goes.
I have just had my last Infliximab drip and to be honest this no longer works for me.
I had a chat with my consultant and they are going to put me on self injections every week (in the stomach).
I could have had two weekly, but went for weekly first.
I have a appointment in the new year to show me how to do this and to inject a few joints.
Does anyone have this treatment and how do you get on?
Thank you very much in advance

Hello grandadpaul and welcome from me too. I've not had any biologics though we have a few on infliximab. Self-injection sounds like humira or methotrexate to me and we have quite a few on them too. Hopefully some will be around tomorrow. I believe the stomach is one of the better places to inject. I've never heard of anyone self-injecting into the joints though. Are you sure? That's a very specialised task.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

 I'm sorry. I've just re-read your thread and I think I misunderstood the bit about the joints being injected. Assuming you mean normal steroid injectioms, administered by a doc, yes a lot of us have had them. They tended to work very well for me but they don't work for everyone. It's a matter of luck, I'm afraid. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Paul , welcome to the forum , sounds like Enbrel which is weekly , some are every two weeks & the one I am on is monthly (golimumab) , you can get information on the biologics from natioal rheumatiod arthritis society , you could use the helplines above if you have any questions
alot of us have to change thier biologics because they no longer work & once they have the funding for you its a lot easier to change drug0 -
