They are worried about my use of Nurofen plus (Nurofen and Codeine) and have decided to stop serving me! Very embarrassing!

I keep boxes spare, I usually have 2 tablets in the morning to help me get out of bed and feed the dogs. My use isn't excessive, although there have been times in the past but getting to my Dr isn't always easy for me!

I do like that they were paying attention to their customers though, and may be the best thing if I was abusing them. Still really embarrassing though!?!

    Hi
My pharmacy stopped my epilepsy tablets once.....that is serious.....not just my pain killers or anti inflamms.I checked with them and they said you aren't due any yet. Embarrasing....very.....they were short of some of those the last time and I was supposed to pick them up but forgot....so they were still there

Embarassing, yes but, as you recognise, that the sign of as good pharmacy.

Have you asked what facilities there are for repeat prescriptions? Apart from my methotrexate, I can phone in repeat prescription requests to the pharmacy, they order them from the doc, collect the prescription and make it up. They also deliver if required. I think many pharmacies do that now.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I think your pharmacy acted correctly. When my mother died I found an enormous stash of pain relief tablets which had to be returned to the chemist for disposal, what an utter waste of the NHS' money. You say you are not taking too many so don't be afraid to use up your stock - check the use-by dates though. I had to return twenty tramadols to my chemist because they were two years out of date; I won't let that happen again. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

It can be embarrassing! Our local pharmacy stopped serving my husband Paracetamol because he had more than 4 boxes in a month and they had a record that he has Kidney problems! It's amazing how they have details of your medical history I didn't know that!! He needed the paracetamol for a little strain he had in his left thigh, he had twinged it at work! He had brought 2 packs and forgot he had one pack left and when't and brought another 2 packs! OH brain freeze!!

And yet, when I was in a certain shop which doesn't charge more than a pound for anything in there, they had an offer of 3 boxes of paracetamol for a pound. The woman in front of me bought 9 boxes in one go!!! I would have said something but I was in so much pain that day that I just wanted to get in get out and get home!

In my area, I literally have 7 pharmacies near by so I can just go somewhere else :)

I don't stock up that much, usually 2/3 boxes spare in case I have a bad flare up and can't get out the house or my sister nicks some! I do like that they were paying attention though :)

I used to be on neproxin, it made me so tired though.. I was useless to anyone and walking my dog was becoming a real issue which is why I just had to stop. I can deal with pain far better then chronic fatigue.

I'm going to my GP this week for a blood test so I'm going to talk to her again about something else to help with the pain.

9 boxes of paracetamol!?! :0 but you can actually kill your self with that!! Just insane! I know you can only by 2 boxes of Nurofen from super markets, I buy the tub of 96 tablets from the pharmacy :) usually lasts me a while!
