Next week I am having pre assessment for total hip replacement. Any advice for this appointment would be appreciated. Surgery is scheduled for early Feb.

I think there's no set-in-stone pattern for them but things they'll probably do are:

Take down your medical history and a list of meds. (Pre-prepared lists could be useful.)
BP and ECG (So just relax :) )
Give you exercises to do pre and post-op. (Do them. They make a difference.)
Ask if you've any questions. (Another list?)

I'm sure others will remember more things.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    Hi
I think SW has covered it.
They did BP, blood tests, one of which showed I was anaemic so the THR had to be cancelled.....Its now set for 24th of this month.
They explained what would happen, a bit about anaesthetics....all surgeons seem to have their favourite way
ECG, Yes you'll get exercises to do pre and post op and do them!! Do them with both hips...not just the one you are having replaced.
Take a list of meds with you, also take a list of questions you want answered.....your pre assess nurse is the one to do that.
Ours {I'm sure most are the same} give you their number so you can ring them if you want to ask anything afterwards.
Any questions you need to ask just ask here as well.......although we are not medically qualified between the lot of us we have a wealth of knowledge/experience
    Love
