Hi all
I am a new to this forum and have joined to see if I can pick up any useful tips to help my mum. She has osteoarthritis in both knees and I was wondering if anyone knows of any patient support groups in the north west of the UK? I think she would really benefit from speaking to others about her condition. Many thanks in advance!

If you look on the AC Home page you will be able to search for local support groups, and also details of courses they run which are well worth attending if there is one available. Her GP surgery might also be able to help with information? You are right to think that it could be helpful for her to meet people in a similar situation, but in the meantime you'll find a wealth of information on the various boards here, and if you or she have questions keep posting and we'll do our best to help.0

What a thoughtful daughter your Mum has
Here's a list of branches in the NW but do check first before she goes to one to ensure the information is up to date.
Have you heard of Arthritis Care's Chat4Change programme in which a group of people talk on the phone regularly with a facilitator? http://www.arthritiscare.org.uk/PublicationsandResources/Selfmanagement/chat4change-telephone-groups
And of course she could come on here and chat to us online. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
