The Pickle Fairy.

I am sitting very close to the 'fridge and I can hear the siren call of the shallots in spicy vinegar plus the onions in sweet vinegar. Bother. Mr DD has gone to bed and I am very tired and achy but even so . . . . . . eat me, eat me and then drink my juice. Oh bother.
So, what 'forbidden' foods call you at odd hours? I used to be a sweet girl but as my years advance (and my temper sours) it's the sweet-and-sour, the pickle and spicy that call me. I'm off to crunch - I thumb my nose at the consequences. DD

I Love Pickles .
But i'm in Malteser mode at the moment0 -
I can't have pickles because they upset my tummy! But when my sister was pregnant with her 1st child for some crazy reason I got her cravings and she didn't! And it was for beetroot! Never been bothered by Beetroot before but when I had the cravings I was getting through two jars a day!! But since I've had IBS I can't touch any of them.0

Definitely cheese and chocolate - but not usually at the same time. Now there's an idea!! Also love unsalted nuts. Whey can't we ever crave healthy food??

Ice cream, ice cream and more ice cream. I can easily eat a family sized portion and even when I'm freezing in the middle of winter. Doesn't matter how sick I feel.Christine0

Gherkins and piccalilli straight from the jar for meHey little fighter, things will get brighter0
-
Ah LV, you are a girl after my own heart. I too have gherkins. And Branston by the teaspoon is sometimes de rigeur. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Where do you all get your gherkins from and what brand do you buy,I loved the really large pickles you can get in America ,can you get them here ? Mig0
-
Check the polish selections that have come into supermarkets recently - gherkin heaven with proper dill pickle in there
Is there anything that Branston doesn't go with? It is one of those condiments that must not ever be substituted for an own brand alternative - it cannot and should not be replicated!Hey little fighter, things will get brighter0 -

You can keep the rest but I would probably give marshmallow a go and if Heston is reading this he is probably even now concocting a hyacinth foam to have on crackers with some Branston.Hey little fighter, things will get brighter0

Mmmmm, a foam of hyacinth with a mess of Branston, served on a bed of one fish finger, one chip and three peas.
Just devoured four shallots in spicy vinegar. I promise not to moan tomorrow about pain. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Mr LV has eaten all my sweet little pickled onions :x or I would be joining you in a pickly treat.
