I got the date for my colonoscopy and endoscopy; it's Friday (17th) at 4 pm. I'm not nervous any more, not thrilled obviously, but I'm sure it'll be fine.

Any pocket dwellers are welcome but you might have to close your eyes at certain points!

Thank you,
Sophie x

    Thank you, you lovely people.

Food is, of course, welcome but please eat discretely because my last meal will be on Thursday at 1 pm and I won't be able to eat until Friday evening, so I might growl in jealousy. That said, I'm unable to keep much down anyway, so not much change.

I too will pitch up and then patch up. Many have been there before you and many will follow: if they can then surely you can. We will be there, just as we are for Frog and Lucy. We care, end of. DD

    Hello Sophie
I will be there for you I have had a endoscopy you have a injection in your arm and then you are pushed on the bed in to the room you have a plastic thing in mouth to protect your teeth and the tube is pushed down that's all I know because the tube would not go down any further I had a build up of acid.
    I hope that has helped

    Just about to leave.

Funnily enough, I'm not at all nervous, just weak and tired. There's a query over if the colonoscopy will go ahead because I vomited the prep but they're going to give it a whirl.

Will be much happier when I can eat. I was so ill yesterday that I couldn't keep any food down. I last kept down a toddler sized portion of potato and beans nearly 48 hours ago!

I'll catch up with you all tomorrow x

I'm home! It wasn't great, I was wide awake the whole time and found it very painful, despite them topping up my pain relief. That said, it was over within half an hour, they were so kind to me and they gave me yummy toast afterwards.

They couldn't see anything but took biopsies. On one hand, it's obviously good news but it's frustrating that there's not yet an explanation for me being so ill. I'll know more after my appt next week.

Thank you again for your support. Knowing that you were all standing with me made my nerves disappear. ;)

    Onwards and upwards....!

Well done, Sophie, I am sure it was not easy but you did it and it sounds as though the staff were both helpful and understanding, which is always a bonus. I agree that it could be a double-edged event so let's wait and see what the outcome is, yes? I hope you sleep well tonight. DD

Well done, Sophie and you must be relieved that it's all over. I think the cup of tea I had (no toast for me!) was the best I ever tasted! I'm pleased the staff were so nice - I find they always are.

I hope your appointment next week goes well.

    Take care,

    Meg
