Sopping in M&s today the assistant noticed my splint which led to chat about Ra. She told me that one should avoid sugar and salt as it causes a big weight gain! anybody know if this is correct?
cheers,

Of course they do if you over-indulge. That's sheer common sense and I don't think meth affects that one way or another. I haven't heard about this - I will go and have a look at my leaflet. DD

Hi DD, Of course I appreciate that sugar is fattening but she most certainly meant 'to avoid sugar as much as possible if taking Methotrexate'

I think she's confused. We should all avoid sugar and salt as much as possible but I've never heard of any connection between them and meth and I've been on meth for 13 years or so. Maybe another example of being careful where one gets one's disease and meds info from - not M&S
