Hi everyone I wish you all a happy new year, I have spent Christmas & new year with my sister in Spain, we had a lovely time but constantly thinking about my one appointment (I have 2 appointments this month)One for an assessment to have operation on my elbow, the other which is the one that's worrying me, is seeing the liver specialist to find out my results on the blood, gene tests plus liver scan, due to an iron over load. I haven't said anything to my hubby or daughter no one actually until now, I go Thursday wish me luck :(

    Hi,

I can understand ure reluctance about telling ure family but I think they'll be really cross wen they find out uve been worrying about this alone!! My 4 children (19-25) & hubby would go nuts at me, They'd want to support me for sure, maybe you ought to tell them? Ure choice of course tho.

I wish you so much luck with ure appointment.

    ((((Hugs))))

Thank you all for your thoughts & pocket duties, well I saw my consultants registrar, he said that they hadn't received my gene results back from Birmingham women's hospital apparently they are very slow at that hospital.he went on to say that my blood test that I had at my doctors the ferritin levels were 700 but the ones taken at the hospital the ferritin is 1200 which was a shock  I was sent to have more bloods taken & told he wanted me to return in 6weeks to have a fibroscan,
he doesn't really want to give me a liver biopsy but if the scan shows nothing then he will go down that road, when we arrived home there was another letter waiting for me my appointment for my operation on my elbow love & best wishes to you all :):)

Sorry I missed this, queenfan. It still all sounds a bit up in the air, doesn't it? A nice quick answer with a nice quick solution would be so much better  Keep soldiering on. I hope it all improves.

Thank you sticky, I was feeling a bit sorry for myself today, then reading your post lifted me up, I don't normally]feel sorry for myself because I think there are lots of people worse off than me, but it as been 3 months & still waiting for the results, I have an appointment 9:30 in the morning for my assessment before having the operation on my elbow next month, I don't think the will operate until my levels go down, because I was due to have a tooth out & was told it was not possible until my bloods were sorted because of the clotting issue Thank you sticky for listening to me drowning on, well I will try & get some sleep if I can
Night hope you sleep well Sue x

There are lots of people worse off than all of us but it doesn't lessen our own pain or worries. It's living with the uncertainty that's the hard bit and you have been living with it for some time now. Keep talking to us, if it helps. It's what we're here for :)
