Hi
I have my first appointment at the pain clinic tomorrow at 8.50am. It will be an early start as it is not at my local hospital, and parking is rubbish when I get there.
I had my new physio appointment last week , and have been trying to keep up the exercises he showed me.
I have had a new ache/pain this week, -my knees have started to join in!!
Yay!!
Pocket duyies welcome as I am on my own in the morning.
Thanks x
NB

I'm up bright and early tomorrow for university, so I will hop in your pocket before lectures. :) Hope it goes well. From what I've heard, most people find pain clinics really supportive. Good luck!

I hope you gain something from it, NB. Mine was a total waste of time - I've been there, I do that, I've done that, I knew that, I know not to do that . . . . I'm sure the doctor felt he'd been useful. DD

    Hi NB
    Good luck today
Mine was a very good appointment.....maybe because I went with an open mind.
Being an arthritis care volunteer I knew a lot of it yes...but did I practice it.....sometimes
Some things were helpful so if you get even one helpful thing.....I think its worth it

    Hi
sorry for the delay, I had a fall at the weekend and have given both my knees quite a bash.
The Pain Clinic appointment went ok. I saw an OT who took a long history, asked what I expected form them, etc... I got a bit emotional when she started to read back what I had told her and she said "what a lot you have had to deal with". (I can`t deal with people being nice!!)
She is going to speak to the consultant about possible injections for my spine, she has booked me an appointment with a pharmacist to do a medication review, and another appointment with her to discuss long term pain management.
I came out feeling a bit wierd really?? I hadn`t expected to feel so emotional about it all.
I have my appointments next month (long waiting time  )
I had more physio this morning. He had my trying to balance on one leg, with my eyes closed!! Ha! I just fall to the side!!
I will concentrate on keeping myself upright on 2 feet , especially after my recent fall!!

    Hi NB,

I'm so sorry about your fall and I hope you're not in too much pain :)

It sounds like you had a useful appointment. I think it's natural to be a bit emotional while talking about pain, but I understand feeling weird too! Good luck for the follow-up appointments and the physio.

    Best wishes,
    Phee

    Hello NB
So sorry I missed this,my brain doesn't work like it use to
I remember well my first pain clinic appointment and being emotional , especially when they ask how does it effect your every day life, and does it cause me to be depressed..suppose it all has to come out some time.
I do hope they can help you ..and please keep us updated (((()))) xx
    Love
