Hi,

This is my first toe dipping into this section ... How brave eh

My hubby plays online poker, Texas Hold ' Em. He only plays in Freerolls so it costs nothing on the whole but he won a trip to Morocco in September last year all expenses paid to a big cash tournament, he didn't enjoy that much. He likes his 'English' food  he's 45 going on 85 I swear :lol:

Well in January, through the same process of winning a lot of satalite games etc he won another trip with 888 to a 5* Hotel, overnight, in Hertfordshire. It was for the Shane Warne inaugural tournament.

They all, 70+ players, had dinner with him (Mr Warne) & then they were shuttled into London to a casino.

Well hubby was seated, for his first table, with Shane Warne & Michael Vaghan :o  It only lasted 3 hands until he was moved to another table but WOW!! Our son was texting me full of excitement, we're cricket fans in our house but those two LOVE it :D

His next table he was seated next to a dark haired bloke with a mobile fone glued to his hand & a cheat sheet for the hands to bet on  It was only Kevin Pietersen!! We've got a lovely photo of him & hubby together. Darren Gough was on a different table & had them all in stiches :D

Steve knocked 1 Aussie cricketer out & got $100 then took out Pietersen as well for another $200 which got credited into his 888 account.

He eventually took 2nd place over all & won £1250 cash :D

Wot a night they had :)
Hubby gave our son the signed bat & ball that was part of his winners package along with the whole trip. He kept a signed shirt that we're getting framed along with a picture of hubby & Shane Warne together. My man did good  I'm very proud.

His newest win is a trip to Venice 10-14th April for the next 888 Tournament .... If my skin improves I'm going to attend this one  If not his brother will go in my place.

I wanted to share some good, lighthearted news from me for a change .... I dont often get any

    Thank you Barbara :)

 Ud definitely need to work on ure 'poker face' then tho it doesn't matter online as you play with an avatar not ure face on camera

Yeah, he did really well :D Since he came home he's won another £410 on the horses online. He keeps his stake money & withdraws his winnings ... He seems to have been in a lucky streak

I saw your comment, thank you. It's always appreciated :D

That's the way to do it, isn't it :D good going. Well done hope it keeps up for him, and even as a zero cricket fan I see that's an impressive prize to have had. :) Out of interest if he loses his stake what then.. that always seems the hitch with gambling sticking strictly to that rule.. I've often wondered.

    Hi Toady,

He withdrew it all yesterday as he felt he was pushing his luck, we aren't greedy people & do fully appreciate the extra money & it will be used wisely

He gets his stakes by winning it in dollars on Omaha Poker, the top 5 in the league win a dollar prize not much but then he'll try & win more thru betting. If we've had an ok financial month he may put some on from our own money but that doesn't happen often I must admit!!

He has fun & it relieves his boredom while I'm watching wot he classes as 'dross' on tv
I can't complain as its taking us to Venice in just under a month, my poorly skin permitting!! :D

Thanks for explaining, sounds like an excellent system, winning your initial stake etc i that way. I am crossing my fingers with full force (and despite the RA I'm deceptively forceful  ) that you do get to Venice. :D

It is a good way, ure quite right. I worry about money, a LOT!! This way he has fun & I don't need to stress about the households money but he can also add to it at times, couldn't ask for more really :D
