Enbrel causing High Blood Pressure?

Hi everyone
I've been on enbrel pen for 10 months now. After a rocky start with severe site reactions it's now helped my joints dramatically.
My BP has been going up and up currently at 193/114! Heart rate is around 95-100 resting!
GP very concerned and I'm seeing them again tomorrow.
I was also on the combined pill, which has been stopped a week.
I couldn't see anything on my enbrel leaflet about high BP but googling does! (Well googling will tell you anything you want if you search hard enough lol)
So has anyone experienced high BP with enbrel?
I really don't want to have to stop it, Humira has already failed with me.
Thanks a lot x

Humira raised my BP so I was given more tablets for my pill box. High BP can be sorted with meds and diet so it may well be that you won't need to come off the Enbrel. We are not doctors, however, so it may be wise for you to contact your rheumatology team. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I've been on Enbrel for 7 years, I had high blood pressure before that and it isn't any worse now.
I take Atenolol and Amlodopine for it.0 -
My blood pressure shot up when I started cimzia. I'm not sure if it was the cimzia along or it in combination with leflunomide and MTX. Apparently it is not uncommon to get high b/p on these meds. GP wants me to consider blood pressure meds but I also need to lose some weight, so I'm going to try that first. Also salt is not good for high blood pressure, so maybe see if you can reduce your intake.0

Hello jabster
Sorry i wont be much help but I just hope they are able to keep you on the Enbrel, especially while it is helping so much, maybe they will give you something to bring your BP down...good luckLove

Thanks so much for all the replies everyone
I'm hoping it's maybe been the combined pill and/or stress as work has been beyond stressful lately.
Seeing GP in the morning, was at Rheumy biological review last week. BP was up then but they didn't seem too concerned and let me leave. Had to see emergency doc at weekend with endometriosis complications and severe headache, sent me to hospital as BP too high and were worried about a potential stroke! (Talk about scaring me!)
Nothing is ever easy eh!
I'll let you's know what they say tomorrow
Thanks again x0 -
Leflonomide can put it up....but they make certain its controlled before putting you on it...hope you get sorted soon.Ruby0

Well folks! I seen my GP today, he is concerned, has given me blood pressure meds and I have to go to hospital outpatients tomorrow for more tests.
I have to take it easy and have gentle walks only, been signed off work for a few weeks
I have to stop Arcoxia and any other anti inflammatories immediately too  :? Happy to let me keep taking Enbrel for now.
thanks everyone x0
