Closomat Maintenance Agreement

I'm just wondering if someone on here has a Closomat?
My mum got it 5 years ago and is now being asked to pay for a maintenance agreement incase it breaks.
The agreement would be £170 + VAT on top for a period of 3 years.
Inclusions -
- Annual Service Visit
- Travel
- Labour
- Replacement parts except seat, douche, outer cover and WC Pan
- Call out and repairs Mon-Fri
Exclusions -
- Misuse or abuse of equipment
- The company reserves the right to charge for abortive visits where no faults is found on equipment following callout
My mum wants to know if this is worth it or do people use their house insurance for when things go wrong with it?
My mum says this is quite expensive and wants to know if she really should go ahead and pay for this.
In 5 years of having it, nothing has gone wrong with yet!
Thank you!

This is a tricky one, isn't it? I'd never heard of Closomat so looked it up. My instincts are always that these agreements, like insurance, are mostly daylight robbery but this is clearly a specialist piece of equipment and will possibly require specialist treatment. Also it's now 5 years old.
If thinking of putting it on the house insurance it would possibly require a special mention. I wonder if your local DIAL would have any info such as if other firms are prepared to maintain them. Is there much to go wrong? The cost of the agreement would have to be considerably less than the cost of replacing it.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

It is a difficult one which is why I wrote on here as I know a few other members were talking about Closomats a while back.
I'll get my mum to contact DIAL and ask.
I think the price to buy a Closomat is about £5000 from what my mum said. It was funded with a wet room as well.
Thank you.0
