My sense of smell has returned.

I don't know when or where it went but I've been years without it. Suddenly, two days ago, when applying the perfume I have to use because I know from many years ago that it's OK on me, I vaguely smelt it.

Yesterday, in the supermarket, I passed by the bakery. Ooooh yes!

Last night I had a bath and not only felt clean but also smelt it. Wonderful!

Then this morning, I walked past my pot of coriander...immediately walked back...and inhaled deeply with my nose right in it...and began devouring it from the pot

I don't know if it'll last so I intend to make the most of it while it does. (Mr SW will be banned from kicking his shoes off  )

Ah, smells: I reckon the best are freshly-baked bread, babies, coffee, freesias and Johnson's baby talc. I hope this lasts, yes? DD

Brilliant news Sticky, I have a friend who lost her sense of smell years ago and know what it meant to her. That must have came as a total shock after all this time. It will have it's advantages and disadvantages, I don't think I need to spell out the disadvantages  xx

Thanks Anna. So far, so good.

What's equally odd is that I've not used my steroid nasal inhaler for about 10 days and I'm OK on that front too :? but :D

My apologies for harping on about this but it still takes me by surprise every day.

Today our first white peony is out. Unlike their earlier red cousins, these have a gorgeous scent and today I got it for the first time in years. It's all the more precious as my Dad 'donated' the plant after moving to an apartment with no garden. He couldn't bear to leave it.

Best 'regular' scents - the bathroom. And me after a bath

Did you, like me, used to always smell the nappies when brought in from the line, marrianne? It kind of made up for having to smell them beforehand

Smelling nappies? Not me, I used disposables. But you can't beat the smell of a johnson's baby.
