Ye gods. He has died, aged 56, which has both shocked and stunned me. He was the same age as my belovéd and, although I never found him that amusing, he was part of the soundtrack to a goodly portion of my younger life. Crikey. :shock: DD

    How sad, I know he had the accident with the off road quad bike..but that was a few years ago ..its no age..

    I learned of his death five minutes ago when the hotel wifi kicked in. Our Toni sent me a message.

    A relatively big part of my life, too, as No 2 son loved The Young Ones. I thought Alan B'Stard MP was his best creation but then I'm a sucker for political satire.
    If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    Very sad news. We loved The Young Ones, too. Do you remember Dave the Cardboard Box? Surreal, but very funny.

    I loved him too. The New Statesman was excellent, and Bottom, and more recently he brought his special madness to Man Down.
    A sad loss for comedy.
