Hi,
May I ask for pocket duties for Monday....appointment not until 4pm.
Remember the fracture in my femur......just 4 weeks into recovery of my L THR??? I've seen the consultant once....shortly after this happened.
Got my 2nd appointment on Monday :?
Hopefully I will get an X Ray to see what's happening. Its 17 weeks now since this happened and I'm still on 2 crutches
I don't feel as if I'm getting very far very fast  I suppose I'm driving so that is an improvement.
As for the DEXA scan.....well it took 4 appointments before I actually got the scan and that was 9 weeks ago  They said the results would be with the GP in 6 weeks.......GP says its taking about 3 months at the moment....I tend to believe that.
They have had me on Calcium and Vit D etc {Not AA thank heavens} because they assume I do have osteoporosis.
I think that's my update for now
Love

You can pop me in your pocket. Hope it goes wellHe did not say you will not be storm tossed, you will not be sore distressed, you will not be work weary. He said you will not be overcome.

You certainly may, Hileena. I do hope all goes well.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

I'll be there, too, Hileena.

Count me in too, this is a biggie, yes? I am surprised at the delay in your getting the DEXA results, I had one recently and had the results within five minutes. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Thanks everyone,
DD.....3 years ago when I had my last DEXA she gave me the results {osteopenia} straight away......weird having to wait this length of time

Yes, it is. In my case the DEXA scanner is situated in my rheumatology unit and (to my surprise because it wasn't in the appointment letter) it was followed by an immediate appointment with the Boss of the Rheumatology Nurses (osteoporosis specialist apparently). Hence I had the immediate feedback.
Sticky has often pointed out that those of us who are under teaching hospitals seem to receive a better level of service. If so it shouldn't be. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
I will be in your pocket Hileena..and really do hope it is good news , I am sure you have plenty of questions so don't forget that list.. xxLove

Thanks DD, Marianne and Barbara
I'm so sore today {after a trip with a group to Scarborough yesterday} In a way I hope I'm still as sore tomorrow when I see him
I normally have a seated Zumba class tomorrow morning. I was thinking "can I face it" but I might do then I should still be sore when I see him at 4pm
Isn't that awful

Count me in, Hileena. I will be there.
From an outsider, I think you are doing really well. To be driving is a huge achievement. You've had a huge operation and a nasty fracture, most people wouldn't be doing as well as you are having experienced one of those things, let alone two! Believe in yourself 'cause you're fabulous!0 -
Thanks Starburst......I think when its yourself you cant see whether you have really progressed much.
If I was looking at someone else I would probably see the improvement
I think its the fact that I'm still on 2 crutches most of the time that gets to me.

Good luck today Hileena!!
I wonder if ure consultant has pulled strings & has got ure Dexa Scan results for you ... That would be a nice surprise
I'll be keeping everything crossed that an xray will be done & show good things for you!!
I can only agree with Starbursts comments ... I think this would probably have slain most people. Uve have cracked on & done exactly wot you needed to do!!

Thanks Debbie
I doubt if the consultant will have got the DEXA results through.
When I was in hospital after that fracture, the Consultant {not the one I usually see at out patients}asked had I got OP?....I said I didn't know, last DEXA showed Oteopinia so it was possible, then the physio asked the same thing and then a nurse asked.....they all got the same answer but no one did anything so when I got home I rang my GP {decided I had to take it into my own hands } she organised it so I think the reults will go back to her :?
I can always hope.....I will ask
