Dear God
Dear God you are my Lord,
Please guide me safely ahead,
My life is yours to forge,
I pray to you while in my bed.
As a child I loved you,
I knew about my sweet Jesus,
I grew up needing you,
But I stayed away without intent.
What went wrong I ask?
Why did I turn away in anger?
My anger I could not grasp.
In my wilderness I did hunger.
For so many years I wandered,
My soul was lost I thought,
My mind wanted answers,
What happened to what I was taught.
This past year brought me home again,
To the Lord that I love,
Like some wonderful special game,
But it is so real to have.
Trust in our Lord almighty,
His plan for us is great,
He never forgot about me,
I am part of the plan so great.

May I suggest that you repost this on the Poetry Corner sticky at the top of this board? That way it won't be 'lost' and others will easily be able to return to it if they wish. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

A good suggestion there from DD.
Do you like poetry, Philippa? Who are your favourite poets? If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Thank you. I don't have a favourite poet as such as I don't read poems much these days. I wrote this one about 8 or 9 years ago when I was going through an emotionally tough time. Fortunately I had good support from the church I was a member off.
I have reposted this as suggested0 -
Good
If you like poetry and religion you might like Lion's Christian Poetry Collection. It's a very mixed bag. Something for allIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
