Fentanyl patches

Can anyone tell me if you've used fentanyl patches 25 gm for slip l5l4 discs with seitreca in leg how long does it take to get in your. System

    Hi. I've been using fentanyl for a couple of years now. I can't remember how long they took to start working though and don't have a slipped disc. I take it for OA and RA..
    I am using 75mcg/hr now. And find them so much better than the morphine ones. I have had no ill side effects with them. I do hope that things get better soon.

    I think they'd hit me instantly like a sledgehammer :lol: but, if your body is used to dealing with strong pain relief I guess it could take longer. Don't mess about with them though, christinac47. If you have any problems with them go back to your GP.
    If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    Hi folks, I have had one spinal fusion c3-4-and need another at c4-5. So far I am coping with physical therapy and pain killers. Have you tried physical therapy? A trained therapist can put you through back exercises that might relax your muscles and end your pain.

    The fact is it doesn't take long for the body to become used to any narcotic and for those euphoric feelings to abate. Then we notice the pain again and beg for an increase in dose. However, you can have 3 days pain relief without having to change the patch, has to be a big plus.

    You need to be very careful while using it. With it being a trans-dermal patch, when your body temperature rises, it can cause more of the med to be released than normal, and could cause serious problems.

    Good advice Amanda. Yes, you must be careful especially in the sun. I always place them on my shoulders where they can be covered even with a vest. Also, I was always told by the specialists that they must be placed above the heart. .

    Fentanyl takes 3 days to get to the optimum level of drug in your blood system. I have been on this drug for many years. Please be very careful how you dispose of the spent patch, there is still enough drug in it to kill a child if swallowed. I can't use the reservoir style of patch as the glue does not stick to my skin. Hope it works for you.

    I am on amitriptyline and tramadol but have started to feel sick when I take tramadol would I be able to stop on amitriptyline if I went on fentanyl patches I need the amitriptyline otherwise I do no sleep

    I am on the patches and also take amitriptyline..Tramadol did the same to me made me feel really sick, when I first went on the patches I felt a little sickly for a couple of days then it passes..like someone has said heat makes then stronger...they help with my back probs bulging disc and a stenosies..but the bast thing I take for it is pregabalin that helps the sciatic pain
