Am I unique in the fact that heat seems to make my OA worse? I aways thought that hot weather was beneficial :? . Had a very bad day yesterday. Made me think of the people I recalled who suffered with various types of Arthritis. I am ashamed to say I didn't give them a thought. I was so exhausted with pain by early evening I was so grumpy and it is so hard to sound upbeat to your family, when all you want to do is crawl into a corner and sleep out of the pain. Oh well, today is a new day. Wonder what it will hold? Sorry for whinge :(

There are quite a few people on here that suffer in the heat me being one, it has to be the change in pressure..I seem to suffer more when it is very hot than I do in winter..such a shame because I do love the sun...

The heat aggravates my PsA, the cold and damp my OA. I think a dry heat is generally better for those with OA but the UK specialises in high humidity which saps everyone, not just us. The past month or so has been utterly miserable for me, roll on the autumn when the OA returns to the fore  ; at least I know where I am with that one. DD

I've never been good in hot weather, but have been finding it worse this year, hadn't really linked it to the humidity. Basically I just don't do extremes either way, hot or cold and never have.

Thanks both :). Guess it is just the humidity. Oh well, I'm not on my own. Yes, awful to say, always looked forward to summer, but this year it has been a blur. Thanks for feedback. It is helping me so very much :)

    Hi Silkysam,

Hot, humid weather makes my OA as worse as the cold. Of course, my hip OA pain don’t make me bedridden  but it definitely aches more during weather changes, making it difficult to walk. Moreover, I totally feel drained during hot climate. Theoretically heat can make inflammation worse. Changes in barometric pressure, temperature and humidity can change arthritis pain levels too.
