I have osteoarthritis in both hands and wrists which has developed over hte past 5 years. For 6 months now I have been experiencing continual tingling in both hands which my GP cannot explain. Could this be related to the arthritis? Has anyone experience of this?

Hi margaretives
Thanks for your post to Helplines.
We are not medically qualified on the Helplines, so it would be really difficult to say whether or not the tingling in your hands may be related to arthritis.
What I can say is that everyone with Osteoarthritis in their hands and wrists is affected differently. I wonder if you could go back to the GP or perhaps see a different GP to find out why you are experiencing the tingling.
You might like to take a look at our factsheet Osteoarthritis of the hand and wrist:

You may find by reposting on our ‘living with arthritis ‘ forum, more members will come back to you with their experiences, it’s also a great way of gaining support.

You’re more than welcome to give us a call on our Helplines: 0808 800 4050 (weekdays 10-4) here we can take the time to talk through any concerns, informally and in confidence.
I hope this is of some help
Best wishes
