Hi Guys, Have managed to arrange an appointment with my R.A Consultant as I really need to look at my meds again seeing as my pain is back bad. Called the appointments department and asked for an appointment a.s.a.p. and the earliest appointment available is for December! So I have booked it. The receptionist was lovely and said to keep calling in case an earlier date comes up.

Hope you manage to get a cancellation but at least you have something booked up.
He did not say you will not be storm tossed, you will not be sore distressed, you will not be work weary. He said you will not be overcome.

If you're able to be flexible, you may be able to get an appt sooner than that, so fingers crossed for you. In the mean time, do you have a rheum nurse who can see you?

I read this and thought the same as Sophie, do you have a helpline or a rheumy nurse? That might be a short cut to the top.

She might be able to help with pain relief but not with anything that the hospital prescribes. Am I right in thinking you take hydroxyl but at quite a small dose? Maybe that could be increased but I don't know who would authorise it - I guess the rheumatologist is the one for that. I'm seeing mine in January - I found the card by chance! Mr DD is keen for me to go earlier but I don't know why. I'm on the best there is and still gently deteriorating! DD
