P D James has died at the age of 94. A prolific writer who has served on tv and various committees.
Sadly missed very popular writer.

    Oh dear, what sad news :( but at that age it's to be expected, yes? She was a very skilled writer, Adam Dalgleish is one of my favourite detectives. Thank you, Ron, for letting us know. DD

    I agree DD, 22 novels, and some made into tv dramas.

    Indeed they were, am I right in thinking that Roy Marsden was cast as AD? For me he wasn't quite 'right' but I guess that's a tribute to her powerful writing. DD

    Sad news indeed - I read all her books and very much enjoyed them.

    Yes, DD, Roy Marsden was indeed Adam Dalgleish - perhaps not quite right as you say, but I love Peter Robinson`s Inspector Banks books, but can`t bring myself to watch the televised version as Stephen Tomkinson is hopelessly miscast.
