Does this sound familiar to anyone?
She says this muscle is very tight, and that's what is causing pain all the way down my left side, from back all the way down to toe. And also the archilles tendon pain as I have tight calf muscles. Also this is causing the clunking in back and catching in knee and ankle!
Not sure why my other knee is hurting though??

I've never heard of this muscle but, having looked it up, it makes sense as it's a big one (or possibly two) running from the spine to the hip. Your physio sounds on the ball so be guided by her and do the prescribed exercises. As for the other knee - sounds like a classic case of referred pain.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    Hi Sticky and thanks :)
Feels good to get some answers after so long! She pushed and prodded in that area and it was so painful.
Can start exercises to help now. Hope you're not suffering too much and all the best :D

I too had to look that muscle up but it does make sense. If that muscle or muscles have become sore and stiff they are going to let that be known far and wide. I hope the exercises do work, meanwhile I wonder if heating it up or some nice warm baths might give you a tiny bit of relief?
Hey little fighter, things will get brighter

As I understand it tightness in that muscle does impinge on the nerve but it is preferable to spinal issues that are harder to treat. This could well be good news for you! I hope the treatment works.

This muscle caused me so much pain that I ended up forking out for 2 sessions a week of osteopathy (at £40 per session) for 4 months. It did the trick though! It had been causing me pain and throwing off my gait for months. Warm baths and heat bags gave me some relief.

Hi all and thanks so much for the comments and tips.
I've read that it can cause damage to the discs etc, although my physio said I don't have a nerve compression, but also said the nerve might be tight but not compressed.
I'm very determined to help the situation as I've had it for such a long time and don't want any complications.
    Thanks again :D
