HELP!! cimzia swelling

Hi all.

I did my usual Cimzia injection earlier and have since got a loarge golf ball size swelling under the pin site. (left thigh) It was quite painful going in but figured it was normal as I rarely use my thighs but recently the skin on my stomach has become very tough.

Anyone had this and can confirm it is quite normal? or whether I should get it looked at.

    It doesn't sound normal but I am not a doc. I occasionally get a small site reaction with my injected meth and if that lasts longer than a a morning then a Piriton sorts it. This sounds like a bigger reaction, in your shoes I would read the side effects leaflet that comes with the drug and see if anything like this is mentioned and, if so, what steps to take. I hope it settles soon. DD

    I now have what feels like a golf ball on my leg. No bruising though. :/

    The side effects state it can cause swelling but how much is too much?

    How long is a piece of string? :? We cannot answer because we are not professionals but, in my experience, a bruise might appear the next day. Do you feel OK in yourself? DD

    Is the cimzia from healthcare at home? They have a really good pharmacist helpline and I've found them very useful in the past.

    Yes it is. I'll give them a ring this morning.
    I use a pen and drew around the swelling last night before bed and this morning it has expanded another 1 cm.
