Yesterday I had a 'virtual colonoscopy' and I found both the preparation day and the procedure itself more difficult and distressing than a 'proper' colonoscpy.

Imagine my surprise, then, when I heard Mr SW telling someone today "Yes, we had the colonoscopy yesterday.

" We?" :o

[i"]WE?"[/i]

I reckon that was indeed a Royal 'we' (or even a Royal 'wee' :) ). I am sure he felt he was there throughout but only in his world, not yours.

I have not yet had to face one of these procedures but recall Mr DD going through similar motions in February 2012 (strewth, I could have put that better but can't bear to rephrase because I know you have a good sense of humour  ) and all was well with him: I sincerely hope the same applies. Not as bad as "We had a really long, face presentation labour", proudly holding "his" son. If I'd had any strength left, I'd have smacked him!....Cate.

    Oh Cate, that's priceless!

My mother-in-law once told me about Mr SW's birth which was long and very difficult. When allowed in afterwards (This was the '40's) Mr SW Senior asked how it was. "Absolutely dreadful!" she replied.

"It can't have been as bad as appendicitis" he commented. "I know. I've had appendicitis."

"And when did you have a baby Mr SW?" snapped the midwife.
