Health and safety mad!

To cut a very long and complex story short my doctor wanted to prescribe me Cimzia but the hospital funding people declined the request and insisted that I must continue on Simponi for another 6 months. After lots of phoning around and plenty of blood tests they finally decided I can now be prescribed cimzia. I thought all would be good and it's just a case of sending a new prescription off to HaH and I would get started on my medication fairly soon. Nope...... due to health and safety I need to attend an appointment with a rheumatolgist nurse who will want to tell me about the drug and set up home needle training. I don't know about anyone else but it really frustrates me having to go through this silly process once again. When I was prescribed Simponi it took almost 3 months to arrange all of the needle training process and around 2 months to arrange the training process when I was put back onto Meth..despite having needle training around 2 months before for Simponi.

They say its due to health and safety and there is no way around it, I just feel its a waste of money and time. I have been self injecting for almost 8 years! The only thing that's keeping me positive is that I will have a new medication at the end of this long process

The world has gone health and safety mad I'm afraid. .

I only inject Meth but my training for that only consisted of me showing my rheumy nurse that I could manage.

    Best of luck with everything
