It's windy.

We have had some minimal overnight damage, a few small tree branches down and a couple of roses torn off the wall - one fence is not looking too happy either but is still standing. I hope that none of you have sustained any external or internal damage but there's still a way to go before this leaves us.
Apparently flights from America are landing up to an hour early because they've been wind-assisted! Not so easy going the other way though . . . DD

Empty wheelie bins are bowling cheerfully along, various alarms are sounding and the birds are having a dreadful time of it, so much so that not many are to be seen. DD0

Well all of today's sailings to the IOM have been cancelled  including the one sailing at 02.15... So far ours is still due to sail on time
I hope it stays that way.
There is a newish building in the centre of Leeds that has been on the news a few times. Every time the wind builds up they have to close the roads and pavements around it. It was supposed to be based on a ship I believe but somehow it ha been causing mini tornadosI think someone was injured the first time the wind built up after it was finished and I believe a van was turned upside down
Stupid architects lol
I'm sat in the car waiting for SWMBO and it's like being on a roller coaster0 -

Omg Tony. We travelled to the IOM in a gale force 9 many years ago. There were only a handful of people left standing by the time we arrived, my Dad and Brother (who filmed it all on video camera) were 2 of them.

Janet took Toni to Ireland many yrs ago with toni's grandad. It was awful. Janet's dad went up on deck and came down soaking wet. Janet thought it was raining but it was the waves coming over the top

It's very windy here - the LVs are in Cornwall for the week. It's blown in a terrific swell though so many moments have been spent gazing out to sea at huge white horses. Bliss.
Tony - the locals here are expecting it to settle soon.0
