The first time I used a wheelchair it was borrowed from the Red Cross for a holiday. I felt very awkward and conspicuous and wanted to blend into the background. Not so my 4 yr old who loved riding on my knee. “We haven't been in a wheelchair before” he informed an old gent who was also in one. “Have you?”
More recently, his own son has loved riding on my knee. He insists I hug him tightly as my arms are his seat belt.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
