Pantalar Fusion

Last October I had a Pantalar Fusion of my left ankle. The operation was a success in correcting a deformity and removing the severe pain in the ankle. However, I now have a new pain in the area of my tibia where the inserted nail ends. X-rays show no fracture or loose screws. Has anyone else experienced such a pain and does it go away?

I can't help I'm afraid other than to suggest you get back to see your consultant as soon as possible and ask what's going on. Also, have you thought about asking your GP to get an MRI done on your ankle? That may show a little better what's going on.
Keep pushing for answers and make sure you have proper pain control organised, sounds like you are going to need it for the moment!
